Do you have an e-mail address? Unfortunately, I don't use WeChat.

It depends, if you're just looking to get a few pointers (stroke correction, technique etc.) then no..... but if I'm required to spend an hour or more with you and actually plan out a training programme then most probably. I'm still a student, so some extra income would be appreciated but not a neccesity right now.

thats only fair and I think you should. I am much older and am only interested in learning how to swim correctly. I have a slight fear of the water. I live in a condo and it has a pool. Can we explore that?

It's OK, a lot of people are afraid of submerging themselves into a pool of water as well. Whereabouts do you live?

Why not we start a swimming group? Allocate a time and day for all that are interested in improving their swimming techniques to meet? I too want to improve my swimming, particularly freestyle.

I wonder how much do you charge seeing as I've always been interested to improve my technique but it is all self thought. I only know free style but I don't submerge my head underwater. I don't know any other style and I don't know how to float as well, so I usually only swim in pools that is not deep. I'm only 158cm really. I'm really a beginner. lol

I'm most definitely sure of my age, hahaha..... what about me sounds "old"? I am, in fact, a retired comeptitive swimmer. Most swimmers, or athletes in general, pretty much retire after secondary school unless you're looking to go professional. A sport like competitive swimming requires endless hours of training, hours which most tertiary education students cannot afford/not willing to put in. So yes, you'll be surprise how many of us consider ourselves as retired athletes at such a youtful age.

I agree with "guest", if you really are serious then consider contacting professionals. I usually focus on people who want to improve their technique and form rather than complete beginners. Having said that, I am willing to teach complete beginners, but you have to be willing to learn. If you're worried that my approach is a little amature (which is completely understood), then please feel free to contact industry professionals.

Teaching adults is a lot easier because you guys actually want to learn and really pay attention. Kids on the other hand..... some of them are forced by parents, just getting them into the pool is an exhausting task (not forgetting the fact that some parents are constantly breathing down your neck)

Exactly, this applies to any physical activities want to learn in life. It's better to stick to one approach and see how it pans out, if it's not working for you then you can consider other options. Every coach, regardless of which sport, may have their own methods of conducting a class..... which sometimes lead to conflict between coaches. When I was growing up, certain coaching styles would favour certain type of swimmers (long distance, short distance, stroke-specific etc.), so it really depends on the individual and what their goals are.

At the end of the day, you are the client, if you don't like what you're paying for you can always go elsewhere.

yes I agree..teaching kids is a lot harder due to parents insisting on being around and teaching frm the side of the pool

Ooo same age as I am... 22/174/55... I think your body is much better than mine seeing that you were a swimmer... How often and when do you go to KJ these days? Purely swimming? Or are you interested in the scene as well? Sorry if my questions are a bit blunt.

Honestly, most swimmers don't have that great of a physique. We don't develop our muscles as much as, let's say a gymnast, because we need to be light enough to keep afloat without having to use too much energy (muscles are heavy!!). Swimmers are similar to runners in the sense that sprinters tend to be more muscular because they need that instant burst of energy, while long distance athletes are more slender in their physique. One is built for explosive power, the other is for sustained energy over an extended period of time. So you actually do get a variety of physiques among swimmers.... but one thing is for sure, we are all lean.

I actually don't go to KJ anymore, I hung up my speedos and goggles years back. I'm still active though, retiring from swimming has significantly freed up my daily schedule for other sporting activities. I probably don't have the same stamina as I use to, but I would say it's still pretty decent.

Let's just say I don't mind the scene? I don't see myself actively participating unless I'm in the mood for it....... so if you're lucky enough, yes, I maybe interested.

Well no harm believing I would say... I find his good English and articulateness appealing by the way. And if he really turns out not to be someone whom he purported to be, people can just choose not to have fun with him or whatever... Anyway it's hard to tell if he is 22 or 25... Not like people would check his IC right? :)

Anyway, does anyone know if KJ pool is cruisy **and most importantly, are there [[muscular]] guys with nice pecs** on Saturday morning?

Hahaha...... clearly my time on this forum has run its course. Believe me or don't believe me, it's ultimately your decision, but please know that I did not participate in this discussion with the intention to deceit. I initially came here to voice my concern regarding the possibility of underage boys walking-in on the bathroom "activities" that go on at the Kelana Jaya Swimming Complex, that concern has been addressed...... what I didn't anticipate is every response that came afterwards. Perhaps I should have kept my responses more concise, but I felt the need to write in detail as deserved by the individuals who had inquiries. If I do end up accepting offers to teach any of these men, the way I respond here speaks volume about how I carry out myself and is reflective of how I communicate with my potential clients.

I have already contacted the men who are keen on learning how to swim/improving their technique, I apologise in advance if I cannot accommodate to all of you who are interested. As for the rest of you, I wish you all the best of luck in your sexual endeavours and may you be blessed with a lifetime of (safe) sexcapades.

This will be the last you'll see me respond under the alias "retired swimmer", but I'll definitely keep this thread in mind if I ever decide on taking my promiscuity to the next level.

Yours truly,

Retired Swimmer.

Right..... that makes sense I guess.

I'm gay myself, but I wasn't actively looking for gay cruising spots. I've met a few guys in person and everytime I tell them I use to be a swimmer and where I train, their response is something like, "Wait..... Kelana Jaya? You do realise that's like a hot spot for gay cruising, right?" Let's just say enough guys have told me that, which led me to do my own little research on the internet. Next thing you know, I'm on this thread.

I'm also partly here because I do intend to train in swimming again, perhaps not competitively but recreationally, and would like a swimming partner of some sort.

I'd love to learn how to swim... can you be an instructor?
