Guest Guest
Hi guys, just wondering how you normally use mouth wash? Like do you use any mouth wash at all after brushing? Like do you just swish it around or do you gargle? Do you spit everything out or swallow some to "sterilize" the throat? Do you rinse with water again after spitting out mouth wash? Or is it supposed to be no rinsing after using mouthrinse? Come share your mouth wash habits.
Sibelius
I was told by my dentist that mouthwashes are not effective at all in reducing bacteria in the mouth. I think he mentioned that the bacteria in the mouth usually form a biofilm or a sticky layer that needs to be physically removed like with brushing or scrapping, so gargling or swishing with a liquid is not effective at all. So what mouthwashes essentially do is add a nice fragrance to your mouth like mint etc.

Blacque
To maintain good oral hygiene you have to floss regularly, and use a tongue scraper before you brush your teeth. Bad breath could be eliminated from doing so, but also do check for tonsil stones if your bad breath persists. Instagram: vodkabaker
Guest Guest
I use mouth wash only after a bj. Rinse and spit is only for the smell removal. You need to gargle for 30 to 60 seconds for it to be effecive in killing the germs.

Your ko ko does that, too.I prefer to use Eludril compared to other brands. It is also good for your gums and helps prevent sore throat. It is a good habit to have a packet of mint with you 24/7. My friend was cruised by a hottie at a local sauna. But when the hottie tried to come up close and kiss my friend. My friend ran like he kenna the IPPT Gold Award. My friend compared the hottie's breath to that of a sewage treatment plant. My evil twin, you must be so kissable with your breath smelling like spring.Muack, Muack. But the instructions seem to imply no need to rinse after mouthwash.

Guest Guest
woah im amazed some really use 1 full cap of mouthwash to rinse? i use like 1/4 of the cap and gargle lor. i asked in Colgate FB before why the instruction does not indicate if rinse is required. the answer is....spit out and leave it in mouth for 30mins. omg i cant believe it...30mins of mouthwash residue?? will burn my mouth lor. anyway normally i gargle and leave inside for 30secs before i spit and rinse w water. Recently saw this newspaper ads....ionic toothbrush from japan that repels plaque w negative ions....brought it and seems to clean my teeth surface quite clean. IkuTube
Try Hydrogen Peroxide. I have been using it and always it gives a 'clean feeling'. Some of the benefits and uses: Personal CareMouthwash / Tooth Care Healing Properties: Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. You will not have canker sores and your teeth will be whiter. If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% Hydrogen peroxide into your mouth and hold it for 10 minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly. 1. Mouthwash Many people don’t realize that hydrogen peroxide makes a very effective and inexpensive mouthwash. Use 3% H202 – add a dash of liquid chlorophyll for flavoring if desired. 2. Toothpaste Use baking soda and add enough 3% H202 to make a paste. 3. Toothbrush Or, just dip your brush in 3% H202 and brush. Soak your toothbrush in Hydrogen peroxide to keep them free of germs. 4. Tooth Ache Hydrogen peroxide is not a pain killer; however, as an anti-viral, antibacterial and anti-fungal agent, it is effective at treating the pathogen that is causing the infection. The following is from my own personal experience: My dentist wanted to give me a root canal some time ago as one tooth was inflamed and, in her opinion, would die. I felt some discomfort but told her that I would give it chance to heal. I rinsed with hydrogen peroxide (several times a day) as well ascoconut oil (once a day). The discomfort went away and I have had no further problems with the tooth. 5. Tooth Whitening Having used 3% Hydrogen peroxide as a mouth wash for sometime ago, I am thrilled to note that my teeth have been beautifully and effortlessly whitened. I used to pay so much for professional whitening, those silly strips and uncomfortable trays. Live and learn. NOTE: Do not swallow any peroxide. When the peroxide rinse is done, be sure to rinse out your mouth with water.Source *Let me live my life to be an instrument of 'Love', in how I speak and in how I see others* - May there be Love and Peace beyond all understanding -

Guest Guest
How to use mouthwashPour the correct amount of mouthwash according to the manufacturer into your mouth.Rinse and swish vigorously in your mouth for 30-60 seconds. At this point you may choose to spit this solution out and use new solution to gargle, or you may use the current solution in your mouth.Gargle the solution for 30-60 seconds as well. 30-60 seconds might seem long but it is important to do because a lot of the bacteria that causes bad breath reside in the back of the mouth by the throat.Spit out the solution in the sink.At this point you may choose to rinse your mouth out with water, or you may choose to leave the residual mouthwash in your mouth to continue to work a bit longer. If you choose to leave it in, try not to drink or anything for 10 minutes. If you use a strong mouthwash that uses a high concentration of alcohol or hydrogen peroxide, it might not be a good idea to not rinse your mouth. Leaving strong mouthwash in your mouth may irritate, dry, or cause other problems in your mouth. Test different methods to see what works best for you. Magicerife
using mouth wash that contains cetrimide or chlorhexane works. these antiseptics form a protective layer on the teeth which can supposedly last a week. you're not supposed to rinse with water after gargling with mouthwash else you'll be washing the "protective layer" away ---Dignity is a facade we wear to hide our ignorance. Guest Guest
i gag if i scrape my tongue. How to stop gagging? Btw how to know if ur own breath stinks?start slowly with the front, then middle and to the back.It takes a while to get used to it.There should be some slimy opaque stuff in the catchment of the tongue scrapper(mine is orange and costs about S$5 plus)It is the residue of the food/drinks left on your taste buds.It is the culprit for causing bad breath.Need to scrap at night and in the morning(less visible).Good to scrap after meal if not once during working hours. Need to floss and get rid of the food particles trapped between gums.Go Daiso and buy those disposable and handy bristle brushes (a pack of 6; like plastic toothpick with fine synthetic hair). Blacque
Anyone here has tonsil stones problem? How you remove them? I can only wait for them to come out accidentally and smells damn disgusting.Actually tonsil stones is quite a common occurrence. You could use a cotton bud or anything long enough to push them out of the tonsil crypts, but make sure the device isn't sharp enough to cause your tonsils to bleed. Gargle often to prevent them from forming, if not it could also be caused by nasal backdrip or sinus. Instagram: vodkabaker
