Guest Guest Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Hi guys,If a guy ( who completed 2 yrs of NS ) becomes a PR or citizen of another country, If he becomes citizen, I know he dun need to serve any more reservist in Sg. Am I right? But how about a guy who becomes PR of another country, does he still need to serve reservist in Sg?And how about his LBV, helmet, no.4 and other stuff?Should he dispose them off?
Guest guest Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Why don't you ask SAF? Who do you expect to give you accurate answers here?
onlylonely Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Singapore citizen and pr of another country - still need to serve ur 10yrs reservist I think
Guest Guest Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Stay in that country most of the time, come back occasionally for short stays and there's nothing they can do to you. hausanzai 1
TopChinese Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 SAF transferred me to holding list the minute I apply for exit permit because of a new job in Shanghai. They didn't even verify or ask for evidence of foreign employment. Don't fuck with e SAF la.. Just follow their rules
darkflame Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 As far as I know, they won't be calling you back as long as your exit permit is still valid. If it does expire and you didn't renew it, who knows? You may be called up. I was asked to do a NS survey recently. Not too sure if it was linked to my exit permit. I'm always running after you. You are my ideal. You are me.
wolfz Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Yeah, you have to apply for an exit permit everytime u leave SG for more than 3 months. When u apply for your exit permit you can state your reason for applying as being a PR of another country. First time I applied I had to provide a copy of my PR visa.

Actually I think it depends on your NS appointment and especially whether you are a key appointment holder. One guy told me he had to wait to be cleared by his NS CO in order to acquire his exit permit.I got my exit permit without question and much fuss. I had to obtain written approval from my Unit CO too during my application. But that just involved an email or two and only seemed to be a procedural formality.
