I feel that the women's section of the pools are bigger than the men's, but when I visited, the hot pool was more on the tepid side (despite the temperature display showing 40'C) while the warm section was more at normal (cold-ish) temperature. Meanwhile, the cold dip pool was at exactly the same temperature as the "warm" pool, i.e. cold-ish. The shower section is slightly different. Beside open showers, there are individual shower cubicles - but all of these shower cubicle, bar one, were locked. The one and only shower cubicle that is not locked is because it was unlockable, due to a broken lock on the door. In the men's section, there were three rows of open showers, fitting 4 per row. One row faces the pools, while the remaining two rows are behind the wall of the pool facing row of open showers. In the women's section, one row of open showers faces the pools, while the remaining row is behind the wall of the pool facing row of open showers. I am more used to the men's section, and I do not feel that comfortable in the women's section. Action? Yes, discreetly, as it should be. As for nudity, almost everyone there - about 10 when I was there - were naked. Personally, I do not feel it is worth the time or money to go to San Onsen in its present state. It is sold as an onsen, but the water is not quite "onsen" in terms of temperature. Quote
