My personal opinion and impression: Gay saunas is mainly for actions. They usually only 1 Jacuzzi pool, and the water...... can actually be quite dirty. People in there can be very touchy and aggressive. The experience and thoughts of leaning against the wall in maze and feeling something sticky on your body gives me goose pimples. Maybe their resting lounge you will have some peace. Onsen such as Yuno are more for relaxation. They got more pools, steam room and also sauna room. The lounge is really good for relaxation. Only Steam room is more happening if you need some actions. Generally it's better maintained and cleaner. Some will also hope to have chances to have fun with straight (or straight looking) guys. Besides the Onsen area, Yuno got dining area, resting lounge and also provide massage services. Joya have 2 private Onsen (one and only in SG, separate pricing) and dining area with cheaper food than Yuno. However, if go Joya, I rather eat at the Eatery shop that is just besides. Better food and choices. I find Joya location inconvenient unless you stay stay in the West, and you drive, especially if it rains. Yuno is inside the mall besides Stadium MRT station, more accessible and convenient, rain or shine. Crowd wise, I will say Yuno is much crowded and most have better built. However, heard Joya have a bit of NS guy went there too. I only went there a limited few times and never encounter any, so for others to comment and confirm. Haha.
