Oh actually it's because the japanese reading of the number 26 can be read as ふ (instead of に）ろく which sounds like the japanese word for bath 風呂. The same for 11.26am - 11 can be read as いい which is same as the word for good in Japanese. I suspect that's probably why they opened on 26 May 2016 too. Less of fengshui, more of just wordplay.

 

Typical Japanese (businesses) like this kind of wordplay - that's why there are discounts for meat in Japanese supermarkets on the 29th of each month, and cat day on 22 Feb, etc.

Next month, 26 April falls on a Sunday. I wonder if they are auspicious enough to offer this promo on a Sunday, which I'm sure has no issue attracting patrons over the lazy weekend.

Yeah, I think the main reason that I like going to onsens and similar public baths is that I wish social nudity were more accepted, and that's the only context in which you can experience it in Singapore. There shouldn't be anything wrong or shameful about people existing in their own skin as long as they're all respectful of each other. I think that's the main privilege I'm paying for.

Huh..even in Japan's onsens some aren't shy and some are ma, so some cover and some don't. Since the establishment is meant to be a str8 one, just dun overthink and just assume all are straight. Today's crowd was not bad, quality was better than usual, quite a number of them 'looked like new faces' to me, haha. I'll just comment on my top 3 hotties seen, in order of preference:

 

There was a relatively young, attractive hunk today, walking around confidently with towel by his side, I was sure "all eyes were on him", haha. What to do there

1) At entrance, remove your shoes and lock inside any shoe locker. Bring the key to the counter.

2) Register with either SingPass or NRIC + phone number, pass your shoe locker key to the counter staff and they will issue you a locker key for clothes (and food if you are eating later).

3) Tap the key at towel counter and the staff will pass you 1 small and 1 big towel. Small towel can be brought inside, but not the big towel (extra charge for additional towels).

4) Strip and put all your clothes inside the locker, shower and then you can start enjoying the facilities naked, haha.

No, the lounge or rest area generally is a no food/drinks zone where most people sleep/rest (probably only your water bottle/plain water allowed, as I saw some people brought in). It won't be nice if food smell is present when one is asleep? Haha.

 

As for sneaking own food into their cafe - also cannot, as I had seen the staff telling those who did it - "no outside food allowed".
