Closeted_jock
My workout attire stinks like mad. I don't know why it does, but I tried rinsing in hot water, using lemons, double washing. All those things don't get the stink out. There are days I wore my tops out to the gym, and on the way there, due to body heat, it starts to smell like a platoon of BMT boys. Anyone have that issue? I'm trying not to throw them away as they are sometimes quite costly.
wulalagus
Only your workout attire or normal wear happens the same?

The scent tends to smell stronger during exercising (higher heat), it heppens when you have irregular food intake/ unbalanced nutrition intake. Soak your smelly clothes in a pail of water with a spoonful of baking soda for 15-20 minutes before dumping into the washing machine for its usual cleansing cycle. Guest
adding 1/4 cup of vinegar or baking soda to the final rinse cycle should work
vertebrate
Have you tried washing your workout clothes right after you use them? I've experienced that if I let my sweaty clothes dry up, I'd need to soak them in soap prior to washing, then use the dryer. But if I wash them right after, it seems to solve the problem. GymStock
I have similar issues. I used lemons and soak them overnight. It solves the problem. It does comes back after a while. I'll try vinegar or baking soda. And yes I think it will help that you rinse/quick wash your workout attire immediately after workout (since you need to shower anyway). It does help to minimise the stench. Quote Am here for sincere friends...
h.shi
I use Febreeze. Perhaps try airing it after reaching home if no time to wash immediately. That may help.
senah
For dryfit or climate cool material. Do not use softener during washing.

Swindonlad
Dry them on the hot cycle of a tumble dryer, the heat kills the bacteria.
