keyboard
Anyone had any luck getting two wireless routers to work on the WDS (repeater) function through home network with single Internet connection? 1) M1 fiber 2) Asus RT-N56U Root Router (connected to M1 fiber) 3) TP-Link TL-WR841N Extended Router Have tried this link, http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-227.html but didn't manage to get it to work, though disclaimer says compatibility issues might occur even with different models and vendors. 1) Asus 192.168.1.1 DHCP 192.168.1.3-199 2) TP-Link 192.168.1.2 DHCP 192.168.1.200-254 3) 1.2 is reachable on the network only from 1.1 DHCP (one-way), though 1.2 to 1.1 gives an error on IP/port so reachability might be there 4) TP-Link DHCP disabled, device is not able to get DHCP 5) TP-Link DHCP enabled, even with gateway set to 1.1, device not able to go out
k13v
Frankly to said these 2 model router are very lousy for fiber. They are very old model and it already in market before fiber internet in sg. If you not concern about smooth connectivity it ok. Wireless to wireless are not a good form for fiber connection. They slow and not stable but if you only want connect and not so bother then ok these 2 model don't work well with each other. It can disconnect due to old firmware and they don't talk to each other well. Cube3
Also depends on where routers are situated. If router A's wireless has problems reaching router B, the repeated signal will always be problematic. Things like concrete walls, full wall cabinets can obstruct wifi signals.
