How much does it cost to extract wisdom tooth at Johor Bahru government dental clinic?

Hi, any Malaysians or Johorians know?

I heard that for Malaysians, it cost RM3 to extract and for foreigners it will be RM20 for registration and RM30 for extraction. Is this also the cost for wisdom tooth? Wisdom tooth is supposed to cost more than others.

If you still have the receipt, go back and ask money back, sounds like overcharging or Camden clinic. just make some noise. I m sure he will return 300$.  next time be less stupid and call some clinics to enquire the price beforehand...

General Hospital Sultanah Aminah.

Thanks so much for the info. I think this one is quite near to check point.

Another malaysian gave me another one at Tebrau. It is called Klinik Keshihatan Tebrau. I think this one is further away. Which one will you recommend for wisdom tooth? Also, both are RM1 for your case? I think they will charge at least RM50 for foreigners

By the way, is it painful when they inject the anaesthesia?

He didn't say he pluck his at Camben. Since you mention Camden, to be fair, Camden is still forgiveable because they are profit making and they make no pretence about it. Plus they are located at orchard area already indicating that their price is not going to be cheap. NDC is the one that is not forgiveable. It is supposed to be non-profit making but look at the kind of shit prices they charge. And they consider this "subsidised healthcare". I fail to see where is the subsidy. It's a big con job. Worse still, to make a first appointment, it will be at least six months ahead.

No, not Camden or National dental. Is a private dental clinic with alot of branches in SG. They ask me which doctor i wan n i ask wat is e different. They show me their price list ranging fr junior to senior Dr prices. FYI i din choose e senior Dr bcos is more ex than wat i pay.

You can endured till jb to get a tooth extract. When I have a wisdom tooth ache, I can even chew a soft bread. And that I have to bite like a snake swallowing the food. Better don t go out of singapore to do dental, even washing.

It's gonna be pain for awhile la...

But I warn u before hand.. GH doctor are usually young and mostly trainee......

Normal case they can do.. special case will have more difficulty... And might required a senior to do...

Basically we become their guinea pig before the doctor graduate and open their own dental clinic.

this is not a funny question. Whether there is pain or not depends on how the dentist manage it. If the dentist is kind and patient and manage it well, there is totally no pain at all even during injection. If the dentist have a can't be bothered attitude, then there will be a lot of pain. This is not amusing regardless of whether above 18.

the last time i had wisdom tooth ache, the pain only comes at night when i lie on bed and sleep. There is no pain during day time. Every night there is pain and the pain will subside about 20 minutes after i take paracetamol.

This time my symptoms are a bit strange. The pain can come anytime. And then it totally disappears for more than one week. And it come back again. The pain only comes when i eat something hard eg. nuts. That is why i can take my own sweet time to go jb because it is not that bad.

If u don't want to go out of singapore to do dental, then u will have to pay exorbitant prices. I fail to see how those in singapore are superior to those overseas.

i will ask them to "tolong" and apply anaesthetic gel and wait for 2 minutes first before injection. The last time i pluck in singapore, there is totally no pain at all.

Some years back, I did go to Bangkok (I do go there at least once a year) and I have my basic dental care done there (such as scaling, cleaning, etc) at a fraction of the cost which I pay in Singapore.

I also explore less invasive procedures such as tooth whitening which is also cheaper than Singapore.  Thais are professional and gentle when they deliver services.

When I worked at my formal company. They gave us $500 yearly specially for dental claim. So I took the opportunity to extract out my wisdom tooth. I did the left upper lower in November. At the time (abt 12 years ago) the extraction for 2 tooth are abt $600+. So I only need to fork out $100+. Then the next Jan I did the other side.

I don't face any wisdom tooth issue at that time. But I read that wisdom tooth often cause big issue especially effecting the molar and caused the decay and later on effected one's older life. Hence many Japanese actually extract their wisdom tooth in early age therefore they hv a better and fuller set of teeth when they grow old. A set of good teeth are important for senior as chewing and able to eat a variety of foods ensure proper nutrition thus healthier golden age

i tell u how u can stretch your dollar even more if you happen to be in bangkok. Cleaning 500 baht. Filling also 500. Chulalongkorn university dental clinic. Behind paragon. One local pharmacy told me about this.

The waiting I experienced is only 30 minutes. So maybe you budget one hour. But definitely not several hours for sure as they are quite adequately staffed.

some people just extract everything even when it does not impact. But problem is what happens if u extract wisdom, and then later on for some unforseen reasons your molar decay or infected forcing you to remove molar? Meaning you lose both your wisdom and molar causing a big gap.
