GachiMuchi Posted July 7, 2018 Report Share Posted July 7, 2018 Out In Singapore Out In Singapore is a project spearheaded by internationally renowned fashion photographer and film director Leslie Kee. Kee’s wish is to introduce the Singaporean public to the diverse faces of the local lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community and humanise what it means to be LGBTQ. From July 5 to 29, 2018 an exhibition will be held of Intermission @ The Projector of stunning photographic portraits of over 150 LGBTQ people living in Singapore. Through the exhibition Kee enables conversations around the difficult topics of sexuality, gender, acceptance and belonging. Every shot exudes Kee’s flair for vibrant, witty and heartfelt portraiture. By using online and commercial spaces for the exhibition the Out In Singapore participants were given a rare platform to reveal and celebrate their true selves, some for the first time publicly. Cant help but notice relatively small no of over 40s and under-represented professions like teachers. Some gay men and women whose love is simply more denied by society. I wish them well.
