Guest Sonny Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 How to properly treat itchy scalp with too much dandruff? Even I shower and towel dry, my head produces a lot of dandruff. It is also embarassing during sex that my partner always complaining about the falling dandruff during sex as if it is like snowing. It tried a lot of shampoo and conditioner but didn’t work. Quote
Guest Seba Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Maybe its caused by your scalp being oily or dry? Perhaps you can find this brand of shampoo called Sebamed. It is slightly more expensive but when used correctly, it should work for you. can get it from Watsons or Unity, try to find a bigger outlet as I noticed smaller outlets dont stock them. Quote
Guest Guest here.. Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 I used Clear shampoo (Clear Men The Blue dot type) it's quite ok... My hair with dandruff is oily feeling.. So I was twice (wet my hair..shampoo it..rinse it...and repeat 1 more time) Then it's completely clean. U after clean u towel dry. No need hairdryer *but if u always in aircon room then better u use hair dryer to dry your hair crucially but not over dry your hair. Quote
Guest Guest Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 Try buying Nizoral from a pharmacy. When using, leave it in your scalp for at least 5 minutes. Quote
justanotherme Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 Try selsun blue shampoo. Very effective. Does not need to use daily. Can use on alternate days. Quote
Guest Jason Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 I find this quite good. https://sg.iherb.com/pr/Jason-Natural-Treatment-Shampoo-Dandruff-Relief-12-fl-oz-355-ml/6253 Quote
bluerunner Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 Selson (selsun??) blue works for me. You can get it from local pharmacy like Guardian and Watson. Quote
Guest Jitesh Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Have a balance diet and a proper hygiene. Take a bath regularly. Quote
hazilyhasty Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Actually before you blame it on dandruff, make sure it is dandruff first. Dandruff is basically clumps of dead skin bundled with extra sebum (oil) produced by the scalp—in other words, you have an oily scalp and any anti-dandruff shampoo will work. However, if you are more of a dry skinned person then it is very unlikely to be dandruff. I’ve got a similar issue for years (dry skin + eczema breakouts when I’m stressed), and always wondered why the anti-dandruff stuff didn’t work. Those shampoo actually dry your scalp even further and worsens the problem. I used a moisturizing shampoo meant for dry scalp/skin and usually let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing off, and it worked! Also, allowing your scalp to breathe (having shorter hair, eg crew cut) and exposure to sun also helps (the latter more if you get these patches of dry scalp that are always in the same place, they’re likely psoriasis and would benefit from UV/sunlight exposure). Quote If the world don't suck we'd all fall off.
Theonlyone Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Dandruff is actually dead skin cells. Your scalp produce dead skin cells faster than normal people and it cause the dandruff. There are oily dandruff and dry dandruff [depends the condition of your scalp] White flakes that fall off easily most likely mean that you have drier scalp. If oily dandruff, the flakes will be yellowish and stick to the root of the hair. TBH, shampoo is just to clean and not treat the problem, scalp tonic is just for home based maintenance. Scalp treatment is the one that treat the problem. Get some home based dandruff treatment product or go to scalp center if you have the money. Food that you eat will also affect it. Quote
Guest Blank Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 Until now, nobody knows why we have dandruff. There's no way to cure it but to control. I use head&shoulder, it works well and is very affordable that last for months even using a lot. Leave it for a few minutes before rinsing off. Note that it stings the eyes. I've tried Nizoral but dislike the smell. Something strange is it makes my hair very dry. Not sure if it's just me. Maybe I should give selsun blue a try since there are a few recommending above. Is it expensive? I don't really like changing shampoo as head&shoulder works for me since bmt till now for so many years. Even my sis with long hair is using it but she sometimes alternative between different brands. Quote
Guest Jayden5397 Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Has anyone hookup with someone who has soany dandruff? I had to end our fun because while he was riding me, his dandruff are falling on my face. Quote
Enchante Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 (edited) I second selsun blue. If the selsun blue 1% shampoo is not strong enough for you, try the 2.5% selsun blue liquid suspension https://www.guardian.com.sg/brands/Selsun Edited January 7, 2020 by Enchante Quote

Even putting argan oil, virgin coconut oil, any types of oil. It is still very itchy. Should I go bald? Quote

I do use selsun too. Only need to use twice a week at first. Now i only need to use once a week or less since the dandruff has gone. Anyway, if possible, try to find one with selenium sulfide 2.5%. Those 1% the effect is slower in my opinion. bluerunner 1 Quote
garuda Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Am having itchy and oily scalp. Seen the doctor and was prescribed some medicated shampoo. The itch keeps coming back and I'm worried that it's causing much hair loss. Anyone has any suggestion? Quote
