Yes I believe what you say makes sense. I am an adherent of Tibetan Buddhism and I was advised that the fastest way of attraction wealth is to give, be charitable because lack of abundance is a result of our past karma of miserliness. By giving we are creating generosity, cutting off miserliness and that attracts abundance into our lives.

Execellent story telling, had me on the edge of my seat reading the story. Even though the story is not at all p--nographic, the building up of the story line is both sensual, romantic and heart warming. Can't wait for the rest of the story to unfold. :thumb:

I guess service to others means putting the welfare of others ahead of our own selfish desires and the extent of which, will depend on our own capabilities and particular circumstances, something we should be well aware of. Simply put, it is an exercise in humility, letting go of our ego, attachment, hatred and ignorance. As always, we should always be guided by our intelligence and wisdom in making the judgment call on how we can go about benefitting others and if we harm ourselves in process, it would mean that we have not been applying wisdom. :thumb:

I believe if someone professes a religion, his view of the meaning of life will of course be colored by the tenets of his belief and in the case of an agnostic, usually will be influenced by his background and experiences. I believe that the meaning of life is...service to our fellow sentient beings, that it's our sacred duty to help our fellow living beings. I think that everyone will agree that human desires is endless and it would follow if we view that the purpose of life is self fulfilment...it would be an impossible task. But on the other hand, if we have only compassion and loving kindness for all our fellow sentient beings.. there would be no room for self indulgent thoughts, the fulfiment of which is impossible and to only strive for the benefit of others. Think about it ! :thumb:

I just thought of adding my 5 cents worth to this discussion of the Law of Attraction. As I understand it, if we spend our energies focusing on the things and situations we want, it will happen if 1.we ask for what we want, 2. we believe that it will happen 2. we take (inspired)action to make it happen 3. be thankful with what we already have and 4. have the right frame of mind to receive what we ask for. To the detractors, just view the Law of Attraction as basically principles on positive thinking. Abundance is the birthright of everyone but we are all limited by our own limiting thoughts. People who are successful believe and know they will be successful although they may not know when that will happen. I agree with Ikutube..get rid of our Poverty Consciousness but if I may add, and be thankful for all the blessings in our life, which is a major magnetic force to attract more goodness and abundance. :thumb:

Well that was quite a read. At the end of the day, it is basically the fear of the unknown, imperfect knowledge that drives segments of (majority) society to have their own pre-conceived worldview. That the will of the majority shall prevail over the rights of the minority, be they along racial, religious or sexual lines. And if one would care to note, all these issues can be debated till the cows come home, yet no end will be in sight unless the majority progresses beyond it's stubbornly held (misguided or otherwise) notions. I think the only way to progress beyond the stereotyping is by developing empathy by stepping into the shoes of the other. Feel how it would be like, for a heterosexual to wake up one day, to discover that all the world is homosexual save for a minority...I think that will put things in perspective for the straight population. Who would want to be discrimnated against, having to be discreet with one's orientation, giving excuses for one's unmarried state, for some having the guilt or shame because one does not measure up to societal mores, having to lie to one's loved ones...in short to live a closeted existence because of societal dissaproval? Why bother if we really had a CHOICE? Sexual orientation is not a conscious choice...I dont' care whethere the scientist can prove or disprove the notion....I didn't make a conscious choice to be gay. That's how I am and I am what I am.

I agree that when 2 person love or care for each other, whether one is top or bottom, it all depends on what each is comfortable with. I used to be a bottom but lately I have enjoyed topping my lover(s) and they are rather surprised when I informed them that I used to be quite exclusively bottom. I am told by my lover(s) that ...ahemm....I am very good in bed.... I guess from my experience as just go with the flow...once both of you are comfortable with each other, labels like top or bottom just doesnt really matter. It's about giving and receiving pleasure with someone you love or care. :thumb:

Hi Hi, I am chubby 30+, 169cm, 82kg...Well I like bears, chubs and cubs in the descending order of preference...but I personally think it would be great to make friends even if the other party is not your type...like some forumers mentioned, besides the physical attraction, the personality of the other person is quite important. That is why I dont discriminate when I make friend...as long as there some kind of chemistry and we have a lot of things in common to talk about...why not? What is important is that both party enjoys each other's company.... :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I hope everyone will be able to find their true love and while I believe that fate does play a part in bringing two persons together, ultimately it is up to you and your loved one to work at strengthening and seeing the relationship through. It a lot of hard work, compromise, mutual understanding and strong committment but really worth the effort ( anything worthwhile in life does take some effort, why not expend some effort in love ? ). Like Gachi Muchi said, one door closes the other door opens...let go of the past and look towards the future, that is the only way to live.

What Would You Do? - Sharing Financial Portfolio in Relationship
bearlova replied to a topic in Blowing Wind Main Forum
I think that firstly, 3 months is rather too short a period to get to know the each other and secondly, in a relationship, irrespective of how much each earns, each should be financially independent of the other. Gifts and treats aside, I agree that with the suggestion perhaps a common fund could be set up to take care of entertainment and other expenses. I always believe that each of us being abled body persons shouldn't rely (or even expect ) on hand-outs even if the other is willing, we should some self respect and dignity... -
Wow, really hot topic...I think I will add my 5 cents worth of thought here.. I guess whether str8 or gay, it's a matter of CHOICE in maintaining a faithful and monogamous relationship. There is no right or wrong, nobody can change how we think about what is right or wrong, if you are comfortable with multiple partners or monogamy, go ahead. I believe monogamy is workable if both partners want it and is willing to make it work, everything in life takes some effort..even happiness.... True even in monogamous relationships there may be occasions where one or the other stray... after all we are human but not animals ( sorry, that argument about men straying being biological is just too simple a cop out ) . What should be done is to evaluate what can be done to save the relationship and to renew their committment to each other, to look at the reasons for the partner straying and to remedy it, but on other hand if trust is totally lost maybe they should just walk away, again a matter of CHOICE..... Rather than to just give up say that monogamous relationships are impossible...CHOICES, CHOICES, CHOICES

Is Monogamy Possible In A Gay Relationship? (Compiled)
bearlova replied to a topic in Blowing Wind Main Forum
I believe that it is possible..but only thing I must qualify is that it is something which both partners must want and willing to work at...its so easy to just sink into saying all men stray, str8 or gay...like everything in life, I believe you must work at it. I totally agree that an open relationship is NOT a relationship... I think that monogany is something that if both wonderful and enriching. If you made up your mind to go steady with someone it means that 1) you find him interesting as a person and both of your click in all aspects 2) no doubt that both of you find each other sexually attractive as well...isn't that a most perfect combination ? Why spoil it by straying ? So the question is why should you want to look for sex elsewhere ??? It just a matter of CHOICE , to stray or otherwise...unlike a str8 relationship or marriage... I believe that str8 men also think about straying but dont do it ( or at least hesitate ) because 1) they love and care for their spouse 2) they love and care for the children...no doubt most men would stray but why be the majority....what I am trying to say is this...its all a matter of CHOICE, CHOICE, CHOICE...If we love our partner think of the hurt and sadness your actions will cause him... If sex between ur partner is no longer exciting why don't you try to do something to bring back the excitement of sex with the one you love...... :thumb: -
Feeling Lost - Mid Career / life Crisis (compiled)
bearlova replied to oralb's topic in Blowing Wind Main Forum
I think everyone ( anyone above 30 yo ) would have arrived at this juncture in their life, me included..Myself just after a very bad break up but I am picking up the pieces... I think to get out of this "lost" feeling we have to focus on the things that really matters in life , to count our blessings and to have simple needs ( tough I know but sometimes the best medicine is the most bitter ). What really matters in our life, the people we love, the people who love us ( we are not alone although sometimes it seems like we are ), our jobs ( after all, your salary pays your bills, food, entertainment ect...) and our passion ( hobbies ect ), to focus on what we already have...we are in a better station in life than many people around us ( I know it's quite easy to wallow in self pity..) and to have simple needs...good things in life will come when it comes... and when you least expect it. -
I guess judging from the response so far, one can deduce that basically it all boils down to what you really want from a relationship, there's no wrong or right. To some an "open relationship' is not a relationship ( more like fxxk buddies living together ), to others it's good enough. I think that in musclechub's case, since he is so affected by the whole thing, he is not into an open relationship and hence he has to work things out with his BF. A monogamous relationship has it's beauty in that you ensure that both of you are only meant for each other, emotionally and sexually. When your partner strays it means that something is not right in the relationship and he is trying to "satisfy" himself outside. A lot of PLU say that a monogamous PLU relationship does not exist, I think we should always think positive rather than to just give up trying.... maybe I am just overly optimistic...
-
I agree with Frankly, when things like this happens, no point confronting the 3rd party. Basically it happened because something is wrong or missing in the relationship and the couple does not or chooses not to talk about it. What musclechub should do is to assess his relationship with his BF and decide what they want for the future, if both are still mutually in love, no problems cannot be ironed out...everything we do depends on what we want and the choices we make. I am sorry I don't believe the prevailing belief that all men fxxk around and closing one eye to the obvious. Sex is sex and betrayal is betrayal... better to be honest with ourselves, it's so easy to fall back to what is deemed conventional, why don't we aspire to be exceptional ?

Remain As Good Friends After Breakup?
bearlova replied to chubbybear's topic in Blowing Wind Main Forum
Just broke up with bf recently, very bad breakup, I intiated it. I guess to ask for friendship when you initiated the break up is asking too much. Maybe in time should we bump into each other....anyways the prospect of breaking up is always so tantalizing but in reality, one will inevitably regret and wished that one reconsidered carefully before making the decision. The grass always seems greener...
