Guest hmm
well, darkness and light are not two separate entities. so it is not possible to think of darkness as something that will go away.

yuquidam
When our eyes cannot seeeee we call it "darkness". So even in broad daylight or "when we turn on the light" a blind "sees" only darkness. Thus, darkness is only the absence of light in our eyes. It does not go anywherrre. So if you choose to live in darkness, you choose to live in the absence of light. Let your heart see the light, and happiness shall be forever yours even if your eyes see no liight. It goes away the same way air goes away when liquid is poured into a container. 16 hours ago, Guest Errrrrrrr said: Are you a Physicist? So, does it mean that when liquid is poured into darkness that light appears? Physicists can calculate the value of the pressure exerted by light. Initially, after God created the universe, darkness was everywhere. And then God said: "Let there be Light". And light, with its pressure, pushed away darkness, This is why darkness, as we know it, is extremely compressed. When we turn off the light in our room at night, the pressure of light is removed from the compressed darkness, which immediately jumps up to fill the whole room with darkness. I haven't seen light appear when liquid is poured into darkness. One explanation for this could be that the darkness DISSOLVES into the liquid and still remains there. We may need to investigate a little bit more the physics of it.
Steve5380
It seems that no one has come up with more ideas of where the darkness goes. This is strange since we all turn on lights, and the darkness disappears. If at least the darkness would make some noise when it moves away... aelwaien
Interest piquing question. It is only with the presence or absence of light that determines darkness. In an area with absence of light, it becomes dark. An object is black (dark) if it absorbs light. groupFunKL92

noldor
A wonderful question! The first question might well be: what is the meaning of coming and going. A definitive set to describe coming and going (as in set theory, venn diagram, etc) would first need to describe the nature of causality, which would itself rest on a specific formulation on the arrow of time itself, ie, does one physical thing cause a subsequent physical thing and is itself caused by a prior physical thing. In other words, is there a definitive past and present. There is a reason why correct scientific conclusions never use the word 'cause', but instead use various terms relating to probability. Like maybe, most likely, is strongly correlated to, percentages etc. All of science rests on the assumption that the flow of time moves irrevocably towards what most people conceptualize as from present to future. I omit mention of the past as that has to respond to another query on the nature of memory. The assumption of the direction of the flow if time has never been definitively affirmed. Experiments such as the delayed choice quantum eraser stemming from attempts to prove the speed of entanglement have proven only but that physical causality and the direction of the flow of time are not causally linked. In a rather surprising twist thus, all the comments above in fact have an element of accuracy to them. I hesitate to use the word truth as far too often there have been many truths to any given occurrence ( again i refrain from the use of the word fact for all of the above reasons). Word of caution once more: my training is as a logician and a theoretical physicist so my thoughts spring from there. As they say oncologists diagnose everything relative to cancer, ents say everything is caused by sinal issues or some such, so one could consider my conment to be extremely narrow in scope. But this is my last post in this forum my personality experiments are concluded, thus no more nonsensical shite from me again yay. Your comment is so narrow in scope that it passes freely between the two-slit interferometer, and could be erased into many quantums of delayed choice.
