sum1outhere_03 Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 To me this was pretty surprising as Japan is pretty conservative country. What you guys think? Genitif 1 Quote Will you be my valentine's?
Guest Osada San Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 It is still not common in our culture having same sex marriage. It is a taboo. Quote
Guest Very obedient Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 Japan was far more advanced in term of acceptance after WWII. It is the very first Asian countries (next to korea) to embrace westernisation. They will do everything the West wanted them to do or face consequences. Quote
Steve5380 Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 Homosexuality is traditionally legal in Japan. They have yearly Pride parades like this one last year: Hopefully Singapore follows the example of Japan and slowly... slowly keeps progressing towards equality. There are not yet Pride parades in Singapore, but there is at least the Pink Dot event at Hong Lim park every year. Maybe... one day they will allow foreign visitors to participate in it... Quote

Looking at the Japanese pride video, I think Pinkdot has much larger scale. In fact, I am surprised why Japanese gay pride is so small as compared to those of Taiwan. Quote
