Although I am not "turned on" by it, I find German the most interesting.  It is also my first, my mother's language. I find it comical that often the meaning of a phrase is not defined until the last word, so one has to remember its integrity to make sense. And I like Spanish because it is simple and melodious, with clear vocals.

The spoken language has never influenced my attraction to someone.   Maybe because I give more importance to actions than words ??  But I like some languages more than others.  I wrote German,  but today I am more attracted to French.  I find it nice sounding, elegant, educated ( it was the language of diplomacy ), and I plan to dedicate more time to perfect it, now that I have a little more free time.

Hokkien. When it comes from a man in motion, voice roughened by effort, breath quick and uneven. The dialect rolls out of him like sparks off steel, harsh and alive. Each syllable hits the air heavy with heat, the words carrying the pulse of strength and sweat.

It’s the language of muscle and will, of someone too caught up in the moment to filter himself. Even its coarser edges sound honest, the unvarnished rhythm of someone entirely present, entirely real.

Dignity is a facade we wear to hide our ignorance.
