Guest Observer
When your final day on Earth comes, how will you reflect on your life? Will you have any regrets? Will you feel sad and regretful for living your entire life obsessing over looking good, looking young, never-ending searching for or thinking of men to have sex with, and being bitchy like the worst of womankind? Guest ffffffff
There is worse. People who live their life always worrying about if they will gain other people's appproval. As a result, they won't do the things they like. And bend over backwards doing stuff they hate to gain face. Like take out a loan on that car and condo and slave away to pay it. And be a stressed out, irritable shit for their whhole life. At their lives' end, they wonder :"what's wrong with doing stuff I like? Why did I not go after it?" mantin30
The saddest way of living a life is not being able reach the full potential a person should be. Accumulating all the regrets along the way. Thinking that why I didn't do that, why I can't do that, what's holding me back? Why the voice inside me can say anything and can do this and that but the the vessel of this voice can't do this and that? Scared of this and that? What a failure person. sgmaven
I have to be thankful for all my experiences in life. I can only say that I am blessed to have lived this life, and taken my decisions to experience life as much as I can. Pity those who live their entire lives under the veil of someone else's expectations and wishes, wondering what might have been if they actually made the decision to do as they really wished. I don't think we can answer your question until we are close to this final day on earth. And it is possible that at that final time we are more concerned about the present, that is, how we feel then, if we are in pain. It could also happen that on our last days we become philosophical, and find that our whole life was inconsequential like a dream, and it does not matter at all how it was, since our last breath could be the end of us in all forms, and our insignificant life has not changed anything in the universe. It might happen that we will think that what was relevant in our life is not what we did with it but that we were alive and conscious, serving our time, and so we deserve finally to rest in peace. BTW... what is wrong with wanting to look good, look young, looking for men to have sex, and occasionally bitch? On 5/7/2022 at 3:56 AM, Guest ffffffff said: As Nike says:"Just Do It! Do It! I am totally with @sgmaven. I am and will be eternally thankful for the life I have been able to lead so far. The best decision I ever made in my life was to move to Asia more than four decades ago. It opened up for me a large number of new cultures, new points of view, new understandings of history, new cuisines, a vast amount of travel exploring the world and lots of new friends. When I left the first of my jobs in Hong Kong, I took my staff out for lunch to thank them for all their support. All were Chinese. Our Accounts Manager even said she thought I had become more Chinese than a Chinese! I took that as a considerable compliment at the time. Had I stayed in the west, I have no doubt I would have had many good times. But I cannot imagine any life being as enjoyable and fulfilling for me than the one I have led so far. Nothing can ever erase for me the wonderful life I have led. Eventually it will have to end and I will recall all the great times to help me through whatever might afflict me at that time - if anything. Like I think all of us, we hope we might just die in our sleep and not have to suffer from long illnesses or disease. Of course, an illness like dementia and Alzheimers will rob us of our memories. But if that were to happen, I would still be grateful for my life. robin

What trauma has changed you from that wonderful life? Oh! So your posts are always filled with positivity? Absolutely not true. Your anger and poster bashing has always been present occasionally but has become much more common recently. If you write something in a BW post, you always seem to forget that it becomes a formal record and can come back to haunt you at any time. You write things and then weeks and months later when posts you have written are repeated, you always find some way to bash the poster for bringing them back to public attention. As for my life - well, you got that right. I love it and feel enormously blessed. You might wish to recall that there are roughly 7.9 billion inhabitants of our planet, 7.9 million tiny specs of humanity. I have zero interest in constant attacks from one tiny spec living far being my horizon almost 15,000 kms away. They do absolutely nothing to affect the wonderful life I enjoy. And then you complain about my "troll snapper" posts! Guest YeongSoo
I am so blessed and glad to be making a living out of doing things that I love and enjoy. I sleep without stress and I wake up looking forward to the next product that I am going to create for commercial launch. I do not find my work a chore at all and there is no difference between weekdays and weekends as all days are occupied fruitfully. I hope to continue doing this until the day I close my eyes permanently and I will then depart with a contented heart.

Why should I worry about this? It is better to work on your "regrets" during your life time... Settle the things and go in peace... I find it very sad when I hear from children that they don't talk for years to their parents. (unless serious abuse, sexual exploitation...) but often when you listen, the disputes don't seem worth, not to talk to your parents for years. If you go on with your regrets it just doesn't make your life happier.

I had this satisfaction throughout my professional career. The creative mind does not need to restrict itself to "work hours". This was my satisfaction especially in the later years when I worked half-time as a technical consultant. The half-time had only meaning for the billing, and working mostly from home relieved me of much of the mechanics of being employed. Without losing track of the dates, I could merge weekends with weekdays. The same I experience now in the decades of being retired. The creative mind keeps running, but there is no work formality anymore.

yoyo74
If you think your way is a sad way to live your life than go change it and dont do the sad way. Your life is in your own hands. As for whether you will regret the way you live your life or not than you will need to think hard what you want. Think of the things you want and your actions that causes it. And also will your actions cause the reverse of the things your want? You must make a definite sure you wont regret your actions before you do anything. If you are afraid of what happens after death, than you had to think even further whether your actions will cause you to regret as well. Think of any harm you do to the life of others living beings be it human or animals. Will you be at peace with it even after death? Think, think and think and get yourself fully enlighten of the things you finally want to do. When you feel you fully know yourself and fully enlighten on your thoughts than you will 100% be sure of the things you wanted to do. Your goals will be set and your path of happiness till death with no regrets will thus follow notd and doncoin

So it does not make sense to be afraid of this. If reincarnation is a fantasy, which is possible, I don't expect to be any punishment or blessing after death. The slate is wiped clean. We will all have the same destiny. One idea that crossed my mind is that we move to another universe like being sucked into a black hole, where we preserve our feelings of existing, but we lose our identity. This is in line with my speculation that we all are a single "human creature" that looks at the world through millions of individual pairs of eyes. Speculating is fun, ha ha.
