Is Cruising Legal?

My friend was caught some time back for cruising in one of the shopping mall toilets by their security. They banged on the door, climbed over and force the 2 to come out. So humiliating when the drag them to the security office, with so many people looking. But they eventually let him go with just a warning, because the mall didn't want to have police records or bad press. Is it true that if the police catches men having sex or hanky panky in the public pool or toilets, it will be punishable by law? is it a $500 fine, or warning, or sent to jail, for caning or appear in newspaper? I am so scared to cruise now but it is so addictive. Anyone experienced out there can share?

Public sex between men and women is fine. Men & men will also be caught. 

 

Singapore still criminalize they know they are around but do not legalize fun sex stuff. 

 

Do it discreetly. If I were you, do recce when free. That is why for me I did my homework. My priority is my fun or sex date safety. So when it is safe, the trust is there...no anxious no anxiety but lot of passion and moan haha...

 

So far so good. From 1-1 (BW, apps, public encounters) ( 3s and groupies (my personal groups)

Cruising in and of itself is not illegal.

The problem is that because most S'pore guys stay with their parents, so once they meet a guy during cruising, they will engage in sexual activities in public, like a toilet cubicle, staircase, carpark, etc., instead of doing it at home.

 

That would make it illegal.

That's why cruising in S'pore is very unfulfilling, in my opinion.

Yup sex in public places,  irrespective of genders, is illegal.

 

"Public places" basically include parks, public toilets, MSCPs, stairwells, etc which any member of the public could visit.

But is security allowed to infringe into one locked cubicle? Do they have real evidence of sex acts? If yes, are they even allowed to record anything?

 

In my view guys caught by security should deny anything and claim that your friend was feeling dizzy and asked you to observe him while using the toilet. 

 

In my view it is already an intrusion to climb over the toilet walls to take a look. 

 

Unfortunately, there are many jealous gays who have been rejected or a cruiser decided to part with someone else and then the rejected resorts to "allerting" the security.

 

In my opinion any guys should move to a quiet floor or less crowded building.  

 

Refrain from sexual activity in crowded shopping mall toilets.

Are you asking if cruising , as in walking aimlessly in public and known hangouts of gays looking for hookups is legal ? 

 

To make it illegal , the police snd courts must prove that you are not a casual pedestrian and looking to hookup and have sex with another guy in public .  Unless you are both caught with pants down , mouth on dick, or locked in a toilet cubicle but security guard looked in and see you both having oral sex, anal sex, raba raba. 

 

 

Walking in public as casual pedestrian is legal, but if after closing of shoping center and late at night, police have right to.ask you to go home , after checking IC and address and pat down, if you still refuse to go home after being asked by

police  , they can charge you for loitering in public place after reasonable  hours of business, you need to prove you got reason to be out in public at night, like jogging , exercise, talking to one other friend, 3 or more illegal assembly can be charged. Vagrancy is illegal.in singapore, vagrancy   homeless  sleep in public  loitering is also illegal  . 

 

Cruising , police need to prove with CCTV recording evidence, you do the seduction with another guy in public. 

 

 

But being caught in public toilet having oral sex. Police or security guard caught redhanded, GOD HELP YOU.

Well, this guy is quite a character  caught redhanded having oral sex in public toilet yet M RAVI lawyer wants to argue case on constititionality. 

 

Lost appeal, fined.

Discretion is key.  Nobody wanted to be caught, seen, stomped or videoed and then suddently you see your face all around internet.  Your friends, your enemy, your family members, your classmates, neighbours, boss, colleagues, ex-colleagues, camp buddies,  relatives and everyone  began to recognise your face.  How are you going to confront every single one of them?  Your love ones suffer as a result of your promiscuous sex activities, you could lost your jobs, cancelled by friends, shunned by familiar people your entire life.  Worse, being charged, imprisioned, canned and publicised by local news with large photos showing you walking into court room.  Adding to the injury, your closetted gay friends, may even write you off.   If you think I am too far-fetched in describing the above gory outcome, you ain't learn anything yet.   My advice is, do it only with certainty nobody will catch you.  Your own home, your vacation room, inside your van, your own rented warehouse or places that you owned, rented.,... are some of the best bet of playing safe.

Do note that Singapore tends to follow the US system, where cubicle doors often do not extend totally down to the ground. As a result, it is obvious when there are 2 pairs of legs inside a single cubicle.

Straight couples have sex in parked cars and public parks everyday. This is also regarded as having sex in public but they are never harassed by the police, nor passersby.

This situation is pure hypocrisy, double standards and homophobia and I am appalled that it is also being displayed by some of the comments above.

You can probably try to fight in in the courts, but most people would rather not let such information go out in the public domain.

That's not really the case. Some time back the Straits Times was full of these articles that straight couples were "caught" by police in cars... Changi Road, Lim Chu Kang were famous... Lately, either the news doesn't report or the Police does no longer control. 

 

Also, when was the last article about gays being caught...

Agree, but who will be the "martyr for the cause", and take the public scrutiny? Remember that the case will surely come under the public gaze, and used by the conservative right to fight for greater censure. Not many people will be willing to let their lives be open to scrutiny for the sake of overturning such cases.

i am not sure why two guys would need to share a toilet cubicle? This is a public toilet we are talking about, going to the toilet is what the space is for. If you want to fuck, go somewhere private rather than use a public space. Why the hell would anybody test the law on this? Why should anyone have the right to use the space for anything other than what it is there for and what other people are using it for?
