In terms of acting, TVB has gone down hill for a while.But nothing beats the mediocrity of Mediacorp productions. Not putting us down, but I guess the local market is small, the corporate mentality of Mediacorp is not going the international way, and probably coupled with the local culture of wanting to remain closed and withon local context.With the exit of more foreign actors (to nurture the local ones), with the limitation of local genes, the TV station and its men will not go far. I find Xu Bin to be the worst actor of the 8 Dukes. He is this generation's Elvin Ng -- cannot act, coast on his good looks, has a big rabid fanbase that will vote him into Top 10 every year. As for TVB, if by "much better" you mean in terms of acting, I agree. But if you mean eye candy, then no. Wayne Lai looks like an uncle and he helms all the blockbuster dramas, and a lot of their male leads are above 40 like Moses Chan and Roger Kwok. But yeah TVB has been going downhill for a while now, even though they're still better than Mediacorp.
