Actually Ian Fang is a good example of why it's important to have 观众缘.

Because he don't have 观众缘, he missed out on Top 10 nomination for 4 consecutive years from 2016 to 2019.

 

He probably only got nominated in 2021 because got 30 slots so easier to get in.

It's like how Elvin Ng can squeeze into Best Actor nom this year because got 7 slots instead of the usual 5.

 

Although I can't stand Ian Fang personally, he is objectively a very good actor.

 

Ayden is the kind of person who must be the best in what he tries.

That is why he spent all that money to do photo shoots so he have content for his IG.

 

This kind of personality may not be suited for showbiz because showbiz is not like other jobs.

Just because you work hard doesn't mean you will get rewards.

 

A lot of it depends on luck, opportunities.

 

Just look at how Chantelle is now poised to be a next-gen ah jie because she got a good role in a popular drama.

Juin Tay not so bad lah, not polished of cos but not horrendous. Horrendous is Tay Ying acting - still rmb her crap acting in the dunno what star search drama.

 

I’m also surprised this hacker drama is from Wa Wa. Not up to their standard. Wa wa productions will always make you look forward to the next episode but not for this drama at all. I think this kinda theme is too new for them or maybe its really just a trial and error for the director.
