How often you go to the gym?

I usually work out about 5 or 6 times per week in the mornings with Mondays off.

Tuesday is usually cardio. It could be spinning or just walking at an incline on the treadmill.

Wednesday I have HIIT class.

Thursday cardio again.

Friday I do power walking for about 1 hour with my dog or yoga sometimes.

Saturday I do weight training (Upper body)

Sunday i do weight training again  (lower body).

Love.

Usually I go 4 times a week.

Tuesdays and Saturdays:  weights with upper body + cardio

Thursdays and Sundays:  weights with lower body

Then, Mondays and Thursdays I go to my classes of Aikido.

Wednesdays and Fridays I do some simple exercises at home.

But lately I have reduced my workouts and suspended my intermittent fasting because I want to gain some weight and avoid over-exercising.

You workout like a body builder but your body doesn't show it.

Alot of ppl I know who gym everyday have better bod. I think it's time to rethink your workout plan

7 days a week for me 🙂

But you still look out of shape based on your user pic..

Its not the frequency. It's the effectiveness.

Go gym everyday. Hours and hours wasted with nothing to show for.

Thanks was not looking for a comment from you. If you say you are that fit you obviously would be showing a pic. Guess you are just a desk warrior hiding behind a guest profile. My profile pic is not fishing for compliments

What’s wrong with you? Hiding behind a guest account and putting people down, probably the saddest thing I’ve seen in a while.

I'm sorry if you feel offended.

I forgot how many times gay guy will intro themselves as gym fit. But their body doesn't even looks like it's been to the gym.

In other country, you see a gym built is a gym built. Only in Singapore, "gym" is associated with unfit guys who try to try to get fit.

And it's usually those unfit who are obsessed about "gym". I know of travelling gay escorts who doesn't even have a home, moving from country to country living in hotel who have better gym bod than all this 5x per week gym goer.

Probably born out of the kiasu mentality that I paid for the gym membership so I go everyday to get the value out of it. But actually just spent slot of time hogging machines and crowding the gym. 15 min intensive workout with 30 seconds rest can drag until 1 hour.

Are you the guy I replied to? I’m not even offended at all, don’t know where you even got that. I just think it’s super unnecessary to be so snarky to fellow human beings and to demean them.

I fully respect the hard work it takes for people to get to where they are, and fitness is a very personal journey after all. Everyone goes at a different pace.

Go when your mood is good or when your passion drives you! Dont go for the sake of bumping into gym crush or etc....can do that in locker rooms...sauna..steam room.. 😂 when comes to the gym floor it is U Vs U! Be serious bout it! Do not try but do your best to do more reps then yesterday then swolfie n see (comparison) before/after (weekly transformation etc..) have some goals for that day or something. Listen to songs that uplift u not emo songs etc....happy thoughts positivity & motivated yourself at the end of the day u be smiling that sweat 💦 off!

Actually, I don't workout like a bodybuilder. I don't spend more than 1 hour working out, Granted, my diet can be better, but I do enjoy cooking and eating out. So that is the trade-off. At the same time, it is not my goal to be a bodybuilder either. Working out in the mornings helps me start my day before work, and it is a meditative process for me.

I am pretty happy with my physique and instead of dwelling on what is wrong with it, I choose to focus on what brings me happiness.

Don't worry,  Guest Lol has no idea how a bodybuilder has to work out... and... eat!   And a bodybuilder body is not the best goal.  The best goal is to workout and eat... FOR HEALTH and long healthspan.

By the way, it’s never been about aesthetics, why don’t you try Barry’s daily or sign up for hyrox? This website is for lgbtq to voice their concerns and to do it positively, not to slam people down based on face value. Going to the gym needs no validation, we all do the best we can and we know our bodies. If you want aesthetics and you say you are very effective show it! Tell us how you do it rather then tell me anyone can goggle and find that phrase you used on me. Or us for that matter 🙂

I think hitting the gym 3 times a day is way too excessive and you risk injuring yourself. I hit the gym 5 times a week, Monday and Friday for upper body, Tuesday and Thursday for lower body and Wednesday is for a general body workout.

While some guys are serious about working out, many spend so much time at the gym simply to ogle at good looking guys, and fantasize about hooking up with them, if given the chance.

I can't seem to maintain the motivation. The longest I endured was go gym for a year. I did see some improvement and muscle mass but at the same time I also can't seem to lose weight.

I injured myself and stopped going for a while and I just stopped stone cold. Now feel very weak to start again.

I feel like people who go gym are addicted to it. Cause once stopped, very hard to start again after all the muscle loss.

Can I ask how much time do you all spend at the gym?

I started gymming recently with 30 -60 mins of cardio. These days, I add about 10-20 mins for weights (about 10-15 reps + 10 sec rest, for a total of 100). Main goal is to lose weight.

I heard of people who spend 2-3 hours on each gym visit. Those who do that, what kind of sets do you do?

The interval of going to gym cannot be too long, if not i would feel that i would lose my muscle and strength. I would try to go gym at least 3 times per week. But sometimes when i was at the gym, i could not do some of the exercises since the equipment is hog by some people who take their own sweet time doing their exercise. As i do not want to spend too long in the gym waiting for them to finish since there is still covid, so sometimes i might skip some of my routine exercise, so ended up going to gym like not going to gym. 😅

In general, I don't think anyone should work out at the gym longer than 1 hour. I usually do a brisk walk on the trendmill for 5 minutes to warm up my body, followed by 3 sets of exercises starting from 12 reps, to 10 reps to 8 reps. I then make sure I do at least 15 minutes of stretching to warmdown.

But most people spend long time in the gym, cause you can see some people take at least 30 mins to 45 mins using only just one particular equipment. 🙄 I only spend 20 mins to most 30 mins in the gym. If i have finished the set of exercises that i want to do, i just go off, would not stay in the gym.

Why don't just workout with dumbell at home if you just going to do 20 min. People stay long cause they paid the gym membership. Pay already use longer. More worth it. Imagine you both paid the same price. But the other guy go 1 hour. You only 30 min. The gym profit from you.... No wonder gym prefer out of shape newbie cause they will give up fast after paying for the membership and seldom come again.

Go gym to do bench press, bicep curl and leg press such exercises. At home cannot do. I go to ActiveSG gym, so no say very ex. I am ok to go for 20 mins-30 mins, main thing is to do what i want to do and then go off. No point just to make the gym membership worth and stay and hog the gym for hrs.

LOL,  your comment reveals that you must be quite young.  Thinking that old age necessarily incapacitates...

When I was about 50 I had for a short time a bf in his 20 who,  full of vitality,  advised me to stop working out at my "advanced" age, ha ha.  Now he must be mid 60s,  and I'm sure that he changed his mind!

If you keep lifting weights into the 80s you won't lose much strength,  and there is only one thing the bones like more than being subjected to heavy weight,  and this is to be banged around.  Constantly being thrown on the floor in my practice of Aikido is ideal for my bones,  who are very strong, according to a recent DEXA test.
