I was in the middle of last Friday incident actually. Was walking around in darkroom when suddenly the lights came on all bright. Everyone was confused why lights were on so many quietly & swiftly left the sauna. I quickly went to "hide" in a room like a ninja & just lie there and sleep.

I did hear from outside the staff led some men in to count the rooms and layout...I a little scared it might be police demand to open every room door...but nothing happened!

I just continue napping in the cubicle until 15min later, the lights went off again. I stepped outside and the place was ALMOST empty! Lol machiam nuked & evacuated. Then slowly people came back in.....

I guess the SCDF story is the most fitting to my experience that day bah.....

There have been reports of other raids before in other saunas. And the establishments would immediately switch on the lights while at the same time, letting the QX in. That's the kind of "prior notice" I was mentioning. I don't think it requires a rocket scientist to figure out a master light switch that can give heads up to the patrons.

But I wld rather be "warned" in a DIMLY LIT environment by the noise, commotion, word of mouth or announcement, rather than being exposed fully by switching on the lights with the master switch and seeiing others and myself still with a hardon.

I believe SCDF spot check for fire safety and if police come they spot check for people using drugs or checking the management got sell drugs or not ... that is all.. If you do not do drugs.. there is nothing to worry about i would say... i was there onces when the polices came.. i just do whatever i do there.... go to the steam bath and smoking room to relax... i am not bother with the police..because i have nothing to hide... lor...

A warning system, that the patrons can differentiate between a raid and any regular activities would be most ideal.

 

Since the maze and rooms are mostly cloaked in darkness, the opposite, which is lights switched on, would immediately alert the patrons. In addition, lights switched on would not tipped QX off. Some patrons might not make a sound when there's a raid, thereby rendering that proposal a complete failure.

I ask because, I still believe the police are wasting time and tax payer's money on these raids at our local gay saunas. 

Some say it's to wipe out drugs, but drug usage doesn't happen in H.K, Taiwan, Japan and Bangkok?

I haven't really researched on this online, but if anyone has seen or read about raids in other countries that are more gay friendly, let me know.
