Sometimes wear boxers or long pyjamas with the slit.

 

If it is unbuttoned, mine will also surely sneak out hard and say "good morning". Then I make sure to give it a few good jerks as it's hardest in the morning.

 

It can be a bit sensitive, and can wake me up prematurely so I usually button it up these days and not let it sneak out.

Good question. I did not pay much attention to it before reading your post.

I went to check my boxers. Some of the slit openings have no button. Just a slit opening. 
Majority of them have a button. I have a few pairs which I buttoned up. The rest I left the slit unbuttoned. Not idea why it’s like that. 🤣😂

As someone has pointed out, when the slit is opened, there are occasions where the penis sneaks out. 😝
