First of all, you need to hire another editor.  Who have 29 minutes to listen?

Secondly you need to hire a new cameraman and director.  Just do a sit down podcast.   Those change of angles and moving around is just unnecessary.  Stopped watching while he's on the bench.

Finally here's an AI summary in less than 80 words

This mini-doc explores "chemfun"—combining drugs and sex in Singapore’s gay community. It tackles the polarizing debate: is drug addiction a mere personal choice or a deeper cry for help? Through raw interviews with recovering users and health experts, it reveals how trauma and isolation drive the cycle. Ultimately, it champions supporting rehab centers like The Greenhouse over passing judgment.

I too thought it overdramatised a rather widely-known and discussed subject of the gay scene. There are plenty of foreign YouTube videos addressing this, with very similar stories; I highly doubt there is a local angle to be squeezed out of a Singaporean video. Being a gay man is alienating on many fronts, we all already know that. Those multiple close-up shots of hands cut to melodramatic drum music as if they revealed some sort of character laden with guilt and torment - but actually no, they’re just the hands of the counsellors and founder of the charity - had an unintentionally hilarious effect.

Dearstraightpeople works best when they just do their usual unscripted trashy panel discussions about the gay scene. Their softcore erotic mini-films feature good-looking guys, but the talent is wasted on really silly scenarios. The dialogue is sphincter-clenchingly awful at times.

Viagra and its related siblings are drugs too. So technically speaking, any man, straight or gay, popping a pill to enhance the erection is partaking in chemsex.

I kinda expected that the comments would be about the production value of the video rather than the topic itself.

Since we're on that boat, the Pinwheels award that they won last year was for an episode that is completely different from the typical videos that they churn out. It was an outlier from their usual content. Is their usual content worthy of awards? Don't know.

As for the topic itself, I don't think it's hidden. It's been going on for years and every now and then, there will be news reports of men charged in court for offences related to chemsex, specifically meth/ice/chill/crystal. It really is a serious addiction. You get used to that level of high quickly and you end up consuming more just to reach that same level of high you used to before. It sets people's natural tendency towards hedonic adaptation to overdrive.

The problem is about the addiction and how it negatively affects the user and the people around them.

Viagra/Cialis/kamagra isn't addictive, so it's not chemsex in this particular context.

You must be one of those who don't consume any real content but merely AI summaries right?

Good luck to succumbing to brainrot in the long term.

or maybe the topic is a bit too close for comfort for you? regularly having chill group fun ? don't want to give it up?

if i have ED and i take viagra so can get hard, is that considered chem sex? but viagra is invented to help people with ED right? but then somehow the gays abused it to enhance / make sex longer / harder when they don't need it. i think those are chem sex. but if genuinely like me got ED problem, i feel like taking viagra so can have sex is not really a bad thing cause without it, really cannot have any sex. SAD FACE.

its like cough syrup, its for cough. but people abuse it for sex. then that is chem sex loh. but people take cough syrup for cough is not chem sex.
