Koh Chong Lip
It's been a while since I posted something here. For those keen to know what the theology of Free Community Church is, there is a repository of the sermons preached in this link: vimeo.com/user11823899/videos I will update the content regularly so do check the page out. There is much wisdom and knowledge to learn from the preachers! Guest Guest
Please respect our place for worshipFCC is not a "gay church"It 's a place where we welcome everyone into our familyThanks for pointing out FCC in not a 'gay church'. I have been hearing the term 'gay church' so often that I didn't realise FCC is a place of worship for Christians, gay or straight, like any other church. Btw, I'm not Christian. Guest Woke from a dream
Or rather. Church for the LGBT people. People who are believers of Christ, to bring both believers and non believers together as a single bondage entity. No imposition on our belief on others but to provide some sort of "healings" and "companionship". Since we are all sinners (not necessarily a gay thing), it doesn't matter whether you are straight or gay, there should be a church for everyone. The reason why I brought this topic up is because, I felt unwelcomed. This is especially so in many churches, when preachers or pastors have these tendency of passing remarks on LGBT group and stir emotional hates or attract more patrons for tilthing. Their sheeps look at us with scorn, whether inside or around the church vicinity. We can't reach out to Christ with such wall cast between us and God. I felt alone, and can only confine at home to pray alone quietly. I was also thinking, if there is a "Gay" Church, it has to be very different, not dry nor cold, white nor black. The church can be colorful, like rainbow that embraced LGBT people and include our straight supporters. It is designed with all the symbols of love, bright, beautiful, colorful, peaceful, cheerful and most importantly warmth. Having a church like this encourage people to come together, bond, help each other in needs and hopefully, attract fundings to reach out to the discriminated and lost soul. We do not aspire to be a mega church, but a scale small enough but big in heart so that those anti-gay preachers have no word to describe nor find excuses to hate us. We are all sons of God isnt' it. The church can be used to organise pinkdot and seminars, talks and provide jobs and volunteers services to both young and old gay people. The trade mark of the church should read: JOHN 8:7 ( in bold and lluminous so that any passer by in the day or night can read them clearly.). Having a "gay" church has many advantages.I find this compelling as many gay people will eventually "depart" alone, and probably need help on that too. The sick, the bedridden may need varous social services exclusive for the LBGT in their final years. There is no place like a church to cater to various lonely needs of gay people. No mega church will dare to look at us differently, because we are no different from them. If pastor dare to pass negative remarks on LBGT, they are insulting the sons (LGBT) of God too. There were many stories to prove Jesus tried to distant himself from rabbi for their "fake righteousness" and he personally went around healing the outcasted group of people. We are those Jesus will love more than anyone in the world. He would love to see a Church created by LBGT. Yeah? We can have a church that belong to us, to spread love and not hate. The "gay" church will spread like pink dot and eventually draws more gay tourist and gay christian from all over the world and we, the LGBT has nothing to fear nor hide and place we can safely find spiritual belongings whether you are a believer or not. We are all family of christ. The above is my dream.
Guest Linus
I don't think LGBT should have a separate church to practice religious beliefs. I believe that your aim can be best achieved by actively participating in the church activities. Doing that makes gays more acceptable in the society instead of having an organisation that separates us from the rest.
