Just arrived two and a hours hours into Shenzhen.

An old friend of mine from Singapore had been operating a granite/marble factory for the last 14 years. Had visited him once back in 2003, he had been hounding me to visit him again. Well, here I am, and to torture him for his constant hounding, I will be staying here for three weeks.

After meeting him at the airport, his assistant drove us to a fantastic TeoChew porridge for supper. Cheap and really good. Food was authentic Teochew and every dish was freshly cooked. Owner was cute too. Took a pic of him. Slurp.

Arrived at his three bedroom condo next to a golf course where my friend J, (straight guy, not convertible - trust me I tried), will put me up for the next three weeks.

I was very surprised that his place is hooked up to a wireless router and as of now, I am typing this on his spacious balcony. The weather is balmy, only 22 degrees C, and I don't even has a shirt on. In front of me are hundreds of his condo neighbours are if they are looking, they will be seeing a shirtless old man typing something on his laptop, at 2 am in the morning on an 11th floor balcony.

MI, you are right. Shenzhen is a young city. Was here in Jan 2004 and spent two nights here. A friend brought me to this sauna - I forgot the name. The place was packed with people of all shapes and sizes and although there weren't any older males, there were quite a few in their thirties and early forties. Ripe enough for me actually.

Spend the morning and afternoon at my friend's factory. He actually imports high quality and very expensive marbles from Iran, Turkey and even Valencia Spain, cut and polish them and then sell them to the Chinese developers who use them for high end condos and villas. He is doing very well and I might invest in his business because I have a feeling his company is good enough to be listed in Singapore in about two years' time.

My friend J, brought me to a high class shopping mall, Coco Park, and now I know why there is a serious shortage of steel in the world. The place is fitted with steel everywhere. The Chinese just love shiny steel. I don't know why. Why can't they use aluminium?

After dinner, J's Singaporean assistant, an Indian chap name S, who speaks fluent mandarin brought me to a pub at the Crowne Plaza hotel. Said he is meeting some Singapore's expats there. J did not go because he has an early golf game the next day with his regular foursome.

When we reached the pub, S introduced me to a few middle-age executives types friends there, none that caught my eyes. These are all straights by the way. 15 minutes, another two guys came to our tables and my eyes lit up.

The first one was gorgeous and his body is like Tarzan. Tall and handsome. The second guy, the second I looked at him and I felt my knees grew weak. Very tall and fair and with the cutest roundish face with dimples and the best part is he is built like a linebacker! Huge muscles all over with a bear belly! Both are Singaporeans based in Shenzhen.

They were very friendly and when they heard I will be here for three weeks, they volunteer to bring me to a dirty ktv (what most Singaporeans who visit Shenzhen like to do).

About the photos, I had just bought a Panasonic DMC FZ18 camera before I went on the Bangkok trip. I am still not used to all the features yet.

Shewzhen is a nice location for shopping as it'sone of the retail city producing fashion attitre especially othercity in China and Hong Kong.

The hotel is cheap n plenty of shopping arcade especially thoese from HongKong and Singapore.I would love to go again for next trip in Feb during ChinesNew year.Itwud be goodif your frecud be my guide too.Haha

A city nearby called Dong Guan is also famous for sauna and massage.May be shu try it out there.

DOM, doing biz in China is a hit and run thing. They hit you and then run off with your money. My previous work experience with them are no good. All their books are cooked and one has to pay lots and lots of money upfront to entertain party officials etc before anything can be done. They will promise everything and deliver very little.

Having said that, there are opportunities here but unless one knows the local system well, and has a very high tolerance level, I would suggest old men like us investing in less risky financial instruments.

My friend's marble company is something I had known for years. In fact I had a hand in helping him grow his business and that's is why he had been hounding me to visit him for years. His turnover is good enough for his company to be listed in Singapore but his books isn't. That is why I am telling him to clean up his books for at least 3 years before even thinking of listing. He is trying to do that now.

Singaporeans do not need a visa to visit China for 14 days or less. For me, since I am staying for three weeks, I plan to visit Macau or HongKong, before my 14 days is up. When I return from these places, I get another 14 days.

This morning the weather turned really cold. The last two days, the weather was a joke. J said it was the warmest two days for the last month or so. He claimed I brought the Singapore weather with me.

J had an early morning tee time at his golf club, Sand River Golf Club, which is just opposite of the condo he lived in. I slept in late, laze around and was ready to go bumming around by myself when he returned.

J hollered from hid bedroom shower to make him a cup of coffee and when I brought it to his room, he walked out stark naked from the shower. The Shenzhen subway (cheap and good) begin from Luohu and end at a tourist spot known as the Window of the World. J's place is within walking distance to the last subway stop. For you guys coming here, as long as your hotel is near to any of the subway station, you basically can move around Shenzhen fairly easily.

One thing I notice in Shenzhen. Many of the business owners are Teochews. Teochews are well known to be good businessmen and women, and they are really proving to be a significant presence in Shenzhen. J and AAA are Teochews btw.

There are no unattractive women in the service line in Shenzhen. All of them are young and attractive. The reason being of course that since there are lots of young women attracted to Shenzhen to work, only the most presentable are hired. If I still like young pussies, I will be staying here permanently.

The young men are not too bad also, but they are mostly twinks and Old Man me like my Man-goes big and ripe remember. Still had not have a chance to visit the saunas so no see and touch any cocks yet. Early this morning, J woke me up to go play golf at Mission Hills with two other Singaporeans, AAA and another chap, named LM, who is based in Shanghai. Both of them are here just to play golf with us and they are heading back on Wednesday.

Something about the famous Mission Hills that I did not know. I was wrong to think that all 12 courses are located at the same place. I was wrong. They are divided into three different locations. The one we went today, the Dongguan Club, consists of Olazabal, Grey Norman, Anelka, Duval and Leadbetter. All are full 18 holes itself.

The most popular courses in this location are Norman and Olazabal. I understand they were fully booked way in advance by rich golfing tourists from Korea and Japan. Since our golfing trip was confirmed only last week, J chose Duval for us to play.

Tomorrow, we are playing the World Cup Course, also known as the Nicklaus course, which is located at the Shenzhen Club.

Clubhouse was very new and nice and the service was definitely befitting a world class resort. Lots and lots of shops and dinning facilities. Locker rooms were different for members and guests, so J had to be separated from us when we went to change.

The Duval is set on a hilly terrain and many of the tee boxes are elevated, meaning one will get a good idea of the layout of the holes. A little bit like the KLGCC (KL Golf and Country Club). You will get an idea hen I post my pics.

The fairway was the most lush I have seen, comparable with Spring City Golf and Country Club in Kunming and the Blue Canyon at Phuket. The ball is always sitting up nicely on the fairway or the light rough. Greens are superbly maintained. Each golfer must have a caddy who rides on the back of the buggy. Buggies are not allowed on the fairway.

Had a really good time due to the weather and the company of J and AAA. LM was a little reserved and did not play well, because he was frequently disrupted by business calls. Won every bet I played and put it this way, all my purchase at Luohu yesterday had been sponsored.

A funny incident happened during the game. We were all talking dirty and while LM was teeing off, J, in a cheeky moment suddenly came from behind me and grabbed me in a bear hug and started humping me from the back in front of everyone including the female caddies. I was kinda of shock but it felt good so I did not wriggle away. Don't read too much into it people, it was strictly a male bonding thing. Trust me.

I also know rich businessmen who are selfish and calculative and even one millionaire who puts his father in a JB old folks home to save money.

AAA is a good man. Although he fools around, he is respectful of the girls that serviced him. I like the way he handled people from all walks of life. He is considerate in his dealing with them, whether they are a customer or a service person attending to him. Although on the heavy side, he always has an air of quiet sophistication with him. I hope to be like him when I reach his age.

When I visit a place, I am not so keen to go to tourists attractions - unlesss naked men are there. I am more keen to do just what the locals do. Good Morning citizens of the wind. Just got back from Yam Cha - Cantoneese for drinking tea, which here basically mean having breakfast or taking a light meal.

I took a stroll around the neighbourhood and just look see look see. Nothing much to see. Not much cute men on the street. According to the people here, women outnumber men in Shenzhen by seven to one! I am not so sure they are correct but good chunky Man-goes are indeed a rarity here.

I have good news and very bad news.

On the subject of toilets, the average Chinese here are not particularly hygenic where their toilet habits are concerned. They are probably like us twenty years ago. In fact, I have never been to a clean gay sauna in China, and that includes Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. All of them are quite filthy. I wonder why with the wages so low, can't they hire more cleaners?

As compared to the straight health centers in China. Some of them are HUGE with different floors for steam baths, saunas and even swimming pools. Beside the usual karaoke and tv rooms some even have complete dining facilities. These places are super clean but they cost at least 3 times more than the gay saunas.

Now the bad news. Remember those cute beefy guys staring at me last night? Well they turn out to be masseurs eyeing me for business. 20 yuan for a foot massage, 100 yuan for a full body (tui na) massage, 200 yuan for sex. All these exclude tips which should range for 50 yuan for the foot massage to whatever "you which to pay" for the sex.

This is what really happened.
