Ok, first things first- Couples who have sex in public risk breaking the law. Criminal lawyers have long said that that as long as the act is visible to the public, the ones involved in the act could be prosecuted.

Mr Rajan Supramaniam, a criminal lawyer at Hilborne & Co: "They can be in love, or even have the intention to marry each other, but as long as they are in a public place, it may be considered illegal."

This is similar to people having sex in cars with the windows wound up - as long as someone sees it and makes a complaint, they could be in trouble.

But Mr Ravinderpal Singh, a criminal lawyer at Kalco Law, said: "It cannot be held to be an indecent act if it is not visible. As long as it's discreet and done behind 'closed doors', then it's okay."

So why do so many still risk getting caught? It's all hormones, it seems. The fear of being caught having sex in public sends adrenaline and endorphins gushing through your system, heightening the passion, says sociologist Jenn Gunsaullus.

Looking up Reddit shows that there's quite a few Singaporeans who have gotten real adventurous on our tiny island, and in really creative places.

Here's a long list of some of the spots quoted in the Reddit thread.

-Handicapped toilet in a park

-In a car

-One of the lockable rooms in an office

-Public jacuzzi at a boutique hotel

-In a taxi

-In a plane under the blanket

-In a school bathroom

-Sitting at the back of a public bus

-Pasir Ris Park

-HDB staircase landings

-In a university student residence's laundry room

-Half-finished HDB block of flats

-A fitness studio around Circular Road

-Couples hot tub in a boutique spa

-Condo swimming pool

But before you decide to get kinky with where you're having sex, here are some pointers from somebody who’s been down that road before.

As a nightclub dancer, Rebecca Chen, 24, has had her fair share of racy romps in the dark. Here she shares two cautionary tales.

Location: Fitting Room

“I went shopping with this guy whom I had been dating for around seven months. I stopped at one store to try on a dress (that was rather revealing). Feeling frisky, I pulled him into the changing room, and we started getting intimate.”

What went right: “Other than one person trying on clothes next door, no one else was near or looking in the direction of the fitting area. Getting it on in the changing room was a new experience, and trying to be quiet made it even more exciting.”

How it can go very, very wrong: “The door was closed, of course. But it wasn’t a full-length door, so our legs could still be seen.” In other words, Rebecca lucked out and got away before the shop staff suspected anything. However, you may not be as lucky and things could go horribly awry – like the other time Rebecca daringly had sex in…

Location: Workplace

“I was packing up for the night, and my then-boyfriend came by to send me home. And the next thing I knew he was kissing me, and we started doing it on the floor.”

How it went very, very wrong: “It was 10pm, pitch dark, and no one was around. I’d locked the door. However, it was a translucent glass door with small gaps of clear glass in between the company’s logo. I thought we exercised enough caution, but forgot about the security guard who patrolled the building. He looked into the office and saw us. It was the first time I got caught doing it. We freaked out and quickly left the building, in case my boss or the cops were called. I got sacked the next day for performing an “indecent act”. I don’t think I’ll do something like this again. It’s not worth the risk.”

No christians are bitching and complaining to the authorities about this? I'm going to call police on them if i see them. But if i see gays doing it, i will leave them alone.

Ok i get it. They are only against gays doing this. Public sex is a "straight right". Right... hypocritical christians.

QUestion: is sex behind locked toilet cubicle or handicap toilet considered public sex? If no noise can be heard from the outside and unless one peeped, there is no inkling of what's happening inside.

I guess according to the lawyer in the article, you got to really make sure nobody sees it. It is not so easy always in toilets. People can detect noises, shadows, shoes, etc. I would think it is safer to avoid.

I've never been to any of those places

Public sex is pretty hot, but in singapore it's just weird and uncomfortable. Places like Australia, America and Italy have large farms and open spaces so it's fun to do it there - used to do it quite a lot when i was there.

Oddly here the only place i've done it in was the condo toliet/steamroom.
