Thanks! which 1 of the 2 will be more crowded?

I'm kinda looking into guys below 35.

I can't say which has the younger crowd at any given time. The younger generation tend to hook up on apps these days. This is why venues are slowly disappearing.

The only tip I can give you is that during the week days, there is far more traffic at the one located in the CBD. I'm talking about during the day and not at night.

hello there, wanna know about the crowd at both subway and wet:

1. lunch time or night will be more crowded.

2. applies to both weekdays & weekends?

Hi,

for subway, since it's located in city, from what I've heard, it's usually busy after work on weekdays.... and then you can stay for a while

for weekend, I heard sunday afternoon, I don't know why, but I haven't really confirmed it.

for wet ... it's usually busy on weekends, or maybe friday night ... if you stay the whole night, you may see people from clubbing went there ... or you can do that yourself , go clubbing then crash at wet.

there are themed on weeknights, but since I never been to any of them , can't comment.

Anyone going Melbourne 25 to 31 aug

Depends on what you're looking for ... I'm based in Melbourne

There was one time, arranged to catch up with a member from this forum ... I would assume just for coffee or show him around city, something friendly or being nice, since we didn't even exchange face pic (I don't have expectations when meeting new people).

So, I was waiting at the meeting point, messaged him to let him know that via line (or perhaps wechat, can't recall) .... and no reply.

I'm guessing he saw me and consider I'm not up to his expectations.

hey, I will be in Sydney 14-18 Sep too.

currently, my plan is only going to ghost tour on 14 Sep 10 pm - 1 am ... hope it's gonna be spooky.

other than that, I'm quite free.

if you have some free time, could catch up in Sydney.

if anyone else has any questions about Melbourne, I will try to answer

Further note:

due to conversation with someone, I remember about vouchers.

Google for discount vouchers such as : Groupon, Scoopon, living social, etc ...

see what tour/activities they offer, most price will be almost 50% off regular price (unless if you're really good at haggling with tour agents).

Cons: bit more hassle with booking, since it has to be done as early as you can and may not be able to get the date you want ... so, better call or enquiry before buying the voucher.

Just a heads up for anyone visiting Subway Sauna.

You will now need photo ID.

I understand all the others are doing the same but they have not updated their websites yet.

It's all about trying to make these venues safer.

Thank you for the information.

I suppose it is only time that the other saunas and similar establishments follow suit.

Hmm, for Melbourne :

# winter night market - at queen Victoria market, every Wednesday night only.

# museums - possibly art museum with whatever current exhibition they have.

or acmi

# mornington peninsula hot spring ... I think it's a worth to visit

# beach : st kilda beach and Brighton beach are where usually people check out ... if the weather is great.

# if money not an issue: hot air ballooning (I haven't even done it).

Not too familiar with sydney, but I booked a ghost tour , so, looking forward to that.

Heading to Sydney 14-17 sep

Thanks for your suggestions! Will the winter night market still be open by the time I am there? I'll be in Melbourne 17 - 24 September.

Any good massage in Sydney or Melbourne?

Massage in melb/sydney are expensive.

the proper one will cost from $80 per hour , no hanky panky

if you're after massage boys, I think the rate varies from $60 (30 mins), $100(1 hour), etc ... depends how good looking the guy doing it.

You just use Grindr or jack'd or craigslist or backpage for these stuff.

even I would prefer to go to Thailand or Malaysia for massage

note: I saw sign $65 per hour in Melbourne (near shouthern cross) & $60 in Sydney Chinatown ... but they could be girls doing the massage

i just came back from down under. The guys in Melbourne are so good looking, warm & friendly. I live in Tokyo and I thought no one beats Japan’s hospitality, but Melbournians certainly match it in their own ways. In a bar near White Rabbit resto, a rugged cool looking aussie guy offered me to take a sip of his drink! How weird/cool is that. I was with my 2 friends (they’re husband & wife) so unfortunately  I couldn’t continue chatting up with him. And I had many more similar interactions.

In Sydney, even though people are less warm and less good looking (to my eyes), they’re still warm & nice enough. I was queuing at a club in the Rock area, where a guy behind me suddenly chatted me up so friendly.

I went to Sydney’s Oxford area clubs to check out gay scenes with the same 2 friends. I would say I enjoyed myself more at straight clubs. What can I say, straight guys are damn hot  ^_^

Im not good looking, so having some good looking guys checking me up or even approaching me for a chat, made me feel awesome. Maybe i should come there more often haha

You should! Sydneysiders are relaxed and friendly, and because people's rights are advocated and respected, visitors are treated kindly and graciously :thumb:

That is so nice to hear that you met some nice friendly people here.

I have found on my travels to Perth and throughout Western Australia that they seem to be by far the most friendliest Aussies.

DECEMBER 27 2017

Superstar singer and gay icon Cher firms to headline Sydney Mardi Gras

Michael Koziol Michael Koziol

You better Believe it – it's looking like superstar singer and actress Cher will headline Sydney's 40th gay and lesbian Mardi Gras in March.

While it is understood a contract is yet to be signed, sources close to the event have told Fairfax Media the 71-year-old gay icon is almost locked in to perform at the world-renowned gay pride festival.

Organisers typically seek out big overseas acts on major anniversaries – the 30th Mardi Gras was headlined by Cyndi Lauper – and this year's will take on extra significance given the historic legalisation of same-sex marriage just weeks ago.

The rumour mill has been in overdrive, especially after the If I Could Turn Back Time singer hinted at the deal on her official (and ever zany) Twitter account, teasingly posting: "Where am I going in March!?"

And it was helped along last week when the Australian Radio Network appeared to break an embargo by publishing an online story declaring Cher was "officially coming to town" for Mardi Gras. It was swiftly retracted but remains viewable in cached form.

Officials made it clear that while Cher was being courted as "plan A" for the after-party, dealings with megastars were always precarious and fallback options were in place.

Already, the 40th anniversary Mardi Gras parade has been swamped with interest and overbooked. Organisers copped heated criticism for rejecting the NSW Teachers Federation – a long-time participant in the parade – before bowing to pressure and granting the union a float once another group pulled out.

About 12,000 people from 200 groups are expected to march along Oxford Street on March 3, which will mark 40 years since the political protest and gay pride march began.

Organisers issued an apology to those unable to participate, citing safety and security concerns that imposed strict limits on the number of people and vehicles involved in the parade.

Brandon Bear, co-chair of Sydney Mardi Gras, said the chief barrier to expanding the size of the parade was the limited space allocated for pre-parade marshalling on College and Liverpool streets, around Hyde Park.

"If there are more people in there, it does actually become less safe, and it becomes very unpleasant," he said.

"We're part of Sydney, we're not separate to it. It's about making sure that we can be as fabulous as we can, but not ruining the space for everybody else and keeping the city operational."

Mr Bear declined to confirm Cher's involvement in the festival, saying only that "no announcement has been made" and "part of the excitement of the party is waiting to find out who the headliner will be".

I will be in Sydney for Mardi Gras this year ... first time (after living in Australia for almost 11 years, ha)

But not going to any parties .... never been big on this, especially when tickets are crazy expensive, better priorities to use my money.
