1. BW has just completed a software maintenance around 10pm last night. This is mainly a security update to fix some bugs and security vulnerabilities discovered by our software provider. 2. Today, a forum error was reported by @G_M. We found the reason to be due to the rapid increase in disk usage by our servers logs following the update, leading to insufficient disk space needed by the database server. Fixed: We have made some changes which should circumvent the problem. 3. Our upload feature which takes up disk space has been very popular. Moving forward, we will be monitoring our resource usage closely. You may remember that we have very recently upgraded our server with more disk and ram. If nece$$ary, this will be an option we will consider. 4. We will post any subsequent update to the main forum. Our apologies if you tried to visit BW today and encountered the problem. Cheers! 1. Our apologies if you have faced any problems accessing BW through the url: blowingwind.org for the past two days. Our DNS auto renewal failed without any of the admins noticing (we were travelling) and we had to manually renew the domain today. 2. How this may affect you: Visitors who go to www.blowingwind.org may see a landing page instead of the BW website due to the expired domain. Emails routing through blowingwind.org were also stuck as a result. You are not affected by 1 if you have already started to visit BW from: https://www.blowingwind.io. 3. The DNS may take some time to propagate. If you have any problems, please clear your DNS cache by following the instructions here - https://www.whatsmydns.net/flush-dns.html 4. Our apologies again. We've recently reviewed a case of a person masquerading as an underage profile using information retrieved online. In this light, I would like to highlight that: 1. BW respects everyone's privacy. Impersonation is a breach of another's privacy and thus will not be tolerated. 2. To protect the safety of the underage, BW has a strict above-18 restriction. Finally, I urge all members to review their social network privacy setting, use caution when sharing any personal information online, and exercise discretion in their interaction with strangers.
