I also appreciate your frustration that often times it can feel like, outside of the U.S. depending on where one is located, a lot of the narrative is biased towards the Dems. I believe that most of us aren't under the illusion that the Dems are saints. So often, even the most well-meaning and altruistic of junior politicians end up "compromised" as they rise through the ranks. Both sides execute political manoeuvres to put/keep themselves in positions of power; I'm cynical but I suspect the well-being of the average citizen is not actually their foremost concern. It comes down to what we consider to be the lesser of two evils.

The democrats are not saints.  But they were given a fortunate hand when the republicans selected as their leader an abomination that cannot hide his incompetence, lack of morality, malevolence.  It is true that the GOP has reaped huge benefits from Trump and may be still getting some,  but they completely lost any moral ground to the democrats.  And this will have an effect in the next elections.  Be it public health,  economy for the average citizen, foreign policy, environment, all these have suffered enormous losses under Trump (GOP).

This makes our task as voters easier.  Voting has always been the choice of the less evil candidate. The highest priority for a politician is himself.  But I believe that here and there some exceptions appear and some candidates are more willing to run for a cause and less for themselves.  I got this feeling with Pete Buttigieg, who made an astounding success in his running for democrat candidate.  He surely recognizes his capacity, and wants to put it to good use.  And his good intentions can be trusted without cynicism.

And now,  the injustices (discrimination) against the black population have come out in all their crude reality.  We must eliminate these injustices.  Once equality is reached, then we can judge the actions of blacks for what they really are compared to the actions of whites, and expose their shortcomings, which are many.

I was for a long time for a slant towards left wing democrats. I am more a supporter of centralist Liberal. Why speak much at all about the right wing's shit? I don't need to. with 90% of media off and online owned by and controlled by the left wing supporting, too many real and fake news is ALREADY flying around. I am not going to debate here much with anyone here as it serve very little in this island what ever happens over there. I do that actively on their forums every day. (1) There is a big corruption problem there that has been brewing out of control since Obama took office. And I was one of those who was so over the moon Obama won but since he took office, CHANGE did not happen, and he prioritizes with the same action as what the right did more than he tried to help not just US but blacks. He did not push hard enough and now in hindsight many Observers including intellectuals (all races) can see that and using REAL data to proof his performance and effectiveness.  He speaks damn well like some pro spokesman but action is very little. There are so many things that interacted and accumulated to reach this road junction. Born of so many smaller roadways not taken or taken.

(2) For me, I can get it partially wrong, I submit. But I am not far off as I use human nature to be my benchmark on how people do or react and history has showed that to be true. I am in this for the long term as I'm following this shit storm even if this thread does not exist. You read 'pockets' of history and news to form your opinion. But for me, I gather my thinking on this for a long time. Call me no life if you like or crazy for doing so. (3)I am more concern about how this about the blacks and the silly WOKE and CANCEL cultures is doing much damage to things I love that came from the US ( which like it or not, so many advances come from it as well as yes bad one) but it is slowly but surely spreading here.... all under the guise of helping the common folks as their battle banner. ( be it left or right mind you) Thus I rather not waste time typing what's wrong with the right wing but just show you stuff in my collection of links of contents I read and listen to daily for years. I only have to see what you write to know, no use typing much.(4) I rather get the videos to speak for themselves which I doubt you even did. I have struggled with this for a long time to change me from left wing leaning to the center and a little to the right. Conservative has got certain things right and so did the left. (5) But TODAY what is dominating is the extreme left wing. I do not have to fight hard here if anything but bring some awareness from the opposite table.

(6) I balance the views you and others'  who are interested to know and give them a chance to think. You want me to show you more right wing shit that is wrong just so you can be happy reading them? I can. Which is what the left wing is using now to distract from the REAL PROBLEMS going on and to help them win the election in 2020. But I think you sprout enough already here on the left wing's work. My only purpose as with all other stuff I write in BW is always about BALANCE. You tip one way, I tip you a view to the other. So you and all get to see two or MORE SIDES to the issue and let all to decide. You passionate? You do not know what passion is for me 24/7. I just choose not to say much here but just point to directions people can take to draw their own conclusion. YOU ARE SIMPLY PUSHING A NARRATIVE of the left as only they are right and do no wrong. Everything you write on, I have already read it or know them well and have counbers to them factually speaking. Maybe you are a black man who came in here to argue your point which is fine. I don't know and don't care. Freedom of Speech. So you get your say. So do I. The problem is bigger than the black community that is stroking the fire.

(7) This riot was not the first, I can remember watching the news way back to see it happens each time someone gets killed and then a riot of protest and then some politicians come up to do this or that and then a year later, it all dies away and then it starts again. Do you recall the LA riots for example ? The circle keeps going round and round. Everyone (mainly white in power) did not cover everything but pick POCKETS of examples and then fit them into the Black or Minority narrative to push an agenda. But all the problems you see do you even know which STATES were mainly involved and who was in REAL control? Who were the mayor, senetors or governor elected in power? And how well did those Left Wing controlled states do and what good for the blacks they claim to help since they keep blaming the right wing for the problem? Do you even understand how their political system & power work? Not just when it is bad, the President is at always at fault. Blah Blah Blah.  This is my last replying to you.  This is not about you. I follow and will post my links argument counter to my point. And yes I do watched all of them and not just now. I can get you links to old record and videos from way back to show that this problem has been around for a long time and especially when the left wing got into power and work the system to benefit them but use the plight of the minority. The have weaponized it. Problem is, it has gone out of control even from their own hands. (8) Which is why the Democrats are in panic mode now. And that is an even more dangerous situation these days. My only concern is how this whole mess effects so many things we have spilling over to our part of the world. Local politics is not allowed here so I digress and will not say more. But apart from politics, this is effect our way of life, culture and the worth of males. Yes I am toxic 3rd wave anti-feminist and some of those shit is already here in Singapore. We are already see some "Karens" in action here too. (9)All these BS is where we are talking about the blacks but this is not the only group that is having problems There are many and as a total there are far-reaching implications afoot. Why should I be so involved? I just am. I like to think if I can help something with my one life a few minutes a day. (10) I stand for something. It not all dildo and sex everyday and working to earn money for myself. I like to think even if I have no kids from being who I am, I still have something positive to contribute.

(1) To say that corruption spun out of control after Obama is ignoring all the corruption that existed before him.  He didn't get enough things done?  A president can do some through executive order,  but legislation can only be initiated by Congress.  And we saw after the first midterm elections that the GOP controlled congress rejected EVERYTHING that Obama wanted to get done.  They tried SO HARD to destroy Obamacare.  This, by the way, was a great achievement that only passed while Congress was fully democrat.

(2) Such idle, pretentious talk.  You never get it wrong, only "partially wrong".  And are you insinuating that  others don't use "human nature" but the nature of fruit flies to be their benchmark?

(3) Please show how all this "concern about blacks" now is doing damage to things that came from the US and you love.  Ahh.. maybe you refer to the TV episodes where the good police use all their intelligence, force and weapons to prevail over the bad blacks?   Strike out "intelligence" in real life.

(4) From what you show here,  it may indeed be the videos you watch that has corrupted your values and sense of reality

(5) "Extreme Left Wing"  is another invention of the Trumpists to create monsters to attack,  like the "ANTIFA",  ha ha.  The most "left wing" today is Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren close by.  They are not "extreme" but simply liberals who are not afraid of the term "socialist".

(6) Nonsense!  You don't "balance" incorrect ideologies by pushing the opposite incorrect ideologies.  You do it by pushing the CORRECT ideologies.

Imagine a teacher that corrects a student that wrote 4+4=6,  by making him learn that 4+4=10 !  Such a teacher would be an asshole.

And here, the ideologies we see posted,  except yours, seem to be the correct ones, reflecting the real situation today.

 (7) Haven't you heard ad nauseam the observation that while so many protest in the past ended up in nothing, this one is DIFFERENT?  Get this in your head, this one is different, as it clearly appears today.  Time will tell,  but it is NO EXCUSE to ignore it because it is just "like the others".

(8) You DEFINITELY need new glasses!  Where you see democrats in panic mode now?  All the contrary, they are becoming more and more assertive collecting the juicy facts that Trump throws in their hands.  And it is easy to see that Trump and his administration are in panic mode,  since polling shows how far down they have fallen, to a point that seems to be of no return. The republicans are not confident either.  When interrogated by the press,  they keep their mouth shut and slide away fast.  What is your concern over things spilling to your part of the world?  Most of them are positive, like improvements for your foreign workers,  a vaccine some day,  new electronic gadgets for you,  etc.

(9) The talk about blacks is NOT "BS".  And wrongs can be resolved one at a time.  LGBTs have and will have their turn too.

(10)  You surely are aware that you are not the only one here who is not all dildo and sex everyday and working to earn money for oneself.  And if you have something positive to contribute,  you are warmly welcomed here with us,  and we look forwards to see something positive from you.

WOW!  I made it to 10 answers...  like the 10 Commandments

I wonder how he feels about Donald Trump punishing those who speak against his Right lies and deceptions...

The very poison that led to where we are today.. a good intention idea tainted by toxic mainly feminist left wing in campus and now over a decade later, the open world in the form of identity politics or intersectionality.

For the bookworms ...

Liberals are drunk on a political poison called intersectionality
By Damon Linker

In the fierce post-election debate about how Democrats should respond to the party's astonishing electoral collapse at all levels of government, some have argued that identity politics is the problem, while many others (especially younger activists) have claimed it's the solution.

Those inclined toward the latter position would be well advised to read a recent New York Times story very closely. An account of growing rancor surrounding the planned Women's March on Washington (scheduled for the day after Donald Trump's inauguration), the piece demonstrates with admirable clarity how doubling down on identity politics — and especially the left's embrace of the trendy postmodern ideology of "intersectionality" — is likely to shatter the Democratic Party into squabbling factions even more vulnerable to a resurgent right.

It would be one thing if Democrats had reason to hope or expect that they would be saved by demographics. Ever since the "emerging Democratic majority" thesis was first floated more than a decade ago, leading liberals have been convinced that their side is bound to prevail as the country becomes less white over time and minority groups eventually combine to form a left-leaning electoral majority. In such a situation, a politics based on racial, ethnic, gender, and other forms of identity might make sense as a mobilization strategy.

But recent events and analysis have cast doubt on these hopes and expectations, raising the possibility that the electoral power of white Americans may well persist for a long time to come. In that case, the need for "normal" politics, which involves forming coalitions across racial, ethnic, and gender divides in the name of the common good, will continue indefinitely.

That's where the danger of identity politics — especially in the radical form highlighted in the Times — becomes obvious.

From the start, the Women's March was an expression of identity politics — the coming together in protest of those appalled by the president-elect's attitude and proposed policies toward the female half of the electorate. But some organizers and participants have something else — something far narrower — in mind. For them, solidarity on the basis of gender alone isn't possible because black women have sometimes been oppressed by white women. For that reason, white women must begin "listening more and talking less," and above all learn to "check their privilege."

Here we enter into the kaleidoscopically balkanizing world of intersectionality, which highlights multiple identities in an effort to single-out the nexus of ascriptive attributes that produces maximal oppression. The idea is that once these attributes have been identified, the "privilege" of those who undertake the oppression can be subverted. Yet in practice, the hierarchy of privilege isn't so much subverted as reproduced and inverted.

Consider the world as viewed through the lens of intersectionality. At the very top of the pyramid of privilege stands a straight, able-bodied, white man — whether he was born rich, attended Harvard, and works on Wall Street, or is a laid off coal miner who struggles with opioid addiction in eastern Kentucky. Below him are straight, able-bodied white women, with straight "people of color" of either gender even less privileged, followed by gay, lesbian, transgendered, and disabled variations on each identity category — with a hypothetical disabled black lesbian perhaps least privileged of all. But of course, this is a matter of controversy, since a transgendered Latina who comes from a poorer neighborhood or a more broken family than her black lesbian rival might contest and take offense at this ranking, insisting that she's actually the one who deserves to be recognized as the least privileged.

It should be obvious that this brand of politics is profoundly poisonous. Instead of seeking to level an unjust hierarchy, mitigate its worst abuses, and foster cross-group solidarity, intersectionality merely flips the hierarchy on its head, placing the least privileged in the most powerful position and requiring everyone else to clamor for relative advantage in the new upside-down ranking. Those who come out on top in the struggle win their own counter-status, earning the special privilege of getting to demand that those lower in the pecking order "check their privilege."

This is a sure-fire spur to division, dissension, and resentment.

Successful politics, especially in a nation with a winner-take-all electoral system, requires building bridges with as many people as possible to win as many votes as possible. But intersectionality moves in the diametrically opposite direction, breaking the electorate apart into ever-smaller groups and pitting them against each other in a competition to determine which of them suffers most pervasively from systemic discrimination, and so also which has the right to demand deference and expressions of repentance from everyone else. But not only the high in power know about this, it is so bad now, it has created little monsters too that has the power to make life troubling for us... THE "KARENS" for example.

Can you imagine a style of politics more certain to end in bitter recriminations?

My Note:

Look at the scene now in the West today. Black vs White on the streets, LBGTQ vs Str8, Asia vs Western universities for entry, Police vs Civilians and on and on and the mix gets more fine-lined so a hierarchy is built base on how many victim cards you carry. This does NOT serve to UNITED all the people to live and work harmoniously but to segregate and cause tension  in order to divide and someone can then swoop in and play Savior if they can but if not, let it all be destroyed. There are no winners to that end. Problem is the regular man or women or gay on the street do not seem to see that or think this has an impact on them even all the way here in Asia. A matter of time. We have adopted a lot of good things from the West as well as Asia but we also have bad stuff coming here. The good folks will not use that and see it is bad but the toxic folks among us will soon find it is a very useful tool to further themselves at your expense or ALREADY are.

Take this as my rant. If you read this far down. Sooner you realize this the more you see thru the veil to spot them. Yes there are some good to it as it weed out discrimination but it also can be a weapon to stir the pot of discord. Reverse the bias and discrimination. Brandish as a weapon to win a challenge unfairly. In employment where it must be 50-50 of male female even if the job suit a guy more effectively but now has to give up 50% to someone less qualify just to obey a given quota. Or student entry to University, seat must be given not to the brightest but again quota for a certain % go to female (subdivided by race and etnicity) , foreigners depending on region, color or religion...its already happening. Better your chances if you fit the narrative in play slanted for so called minorities, you get priority, your words more 'truer' base on what you have between your legs or color of your skin. Meritocracy is thrown out the window. What that effect is less progress. The slightly less-smartest might not make the cut if the 50% quota is reach as they now have to see a female or some category of person next in line in the hierarchy pyramid of victim ranking. In the end, everyone loses or progressed is slowed. The people manipulating his has not such worry with their power and money. They get to go anywhere they like not worrying about this identity politics. We the little pawns get played. If there was abuse of power that is systemic, that will be it. This illness has born a few off-shoot examples, the invention of "The KARENs"  using social media as their weapon of choice to push their own selfish ideas onto others by force, shame or threat.

Emotion over facts. The easy way to explain everything wrong in those world without hurting the feels of precious snowflakes. Remember the story of how in the west it was such a "feel good" thing to see little kid play football and the team that won got trophies but so did the losing team, they took were given so they do not feel bad. What culture and thinking do you think that has on progression where winning or lose is the same thing. There are no incentive for excelling if that happens, where are the new advances in tech or science for example. Many here I see don't care or think this is not going to happen and carry on with their lives. Trump did not get into power because he was such a good leader. He was the mutated result of what came from the left wing democrat action and inaction over the decades. When people get fed up, they are willing to try anything. This can happen in Singapore too.... so there is a balance at play here. We can not discuss our local politics here. I respect that. But it is interest to analyze and see how others handle their to see what will become of our own here.  Again, this is my rant. :P and view. Not up for debate. I rather if you are passionate like me to go read deep and wide. Cheers

Even bookworms with certain dignity will concentrate on eating the dried wood pulp instead of paying any attention to this stupid word "intersectionality",

a word that must have been created by a bunch of aristocratic supremacists enjoying the analysis of discrimination, instead of having the slightest  interest in eliminating it.

Yes, reverse discrimination gives raise to injustices (the pendulum of righteousness overshooting and swinging in the opposite direction),  but these oscillations are damped.  (better understood if one knows about transient analysis and feedback mechanisms).   Reverse discrimination is much less harmful than discrimination, but it is blown up by those who are responsible for the discrimination in the first place.

Oh, and we get here  precious snowflakes again.   This must be an obsession created by the warm weather in Singapore, giving visions of interconnected ice crystals that are cold, cold,  visions that are like what people lost in the dessert of Sahara experience seeing oases of blue water in the distance...
