Thanks for the great advice Derelict. This is a good tip in general regardless of your location and especially to those who goes abroad for vacations. We should know the nearest police station if the worst has happened. I was also hesitant to go to the police because I too was a foreigner there in Batam and that time was still not fluent in Bahasa Indonesia.

No worries. I read that advice they gave to female rape victims. Don't wash away evidence. But I would have been quite confused and lost too, given the circumstances.

I think you made the right choice for not reporting.  Indonesia has very strict law and punishment on gay sex, regardless.  Both of you could end up being detained for a long period of time, while waiting for the slow legal process of the court.
