A spokesperson from JetStar Asia said the airline would be cancelling both its Singapore flights to Bangkok on Wednesday. Both flights have been scheduled to leave Changi Terminal One at 7.15am and at 6.50pm.

I am horrified at the recent turn of events. Can you imagine heading to Changi this morning all happy at the prospect of a holiday only to be turned away at the airport? I think many will be caugh unaware as the event only took the turn for worse rather late at night.

Really hope nothing of this sort will happen when I go over there next month. Think I better buy insurance first.

ED, i've checked with my insurance company. They are not insuring against political unrest like the one in Bangkok now...

i was watching CNN, what's worst is that this week is the thanksgiving week. Those westerners that were stuck there may not be able to make it back for thanksgiving (which some treat as biggest festival, even more than Christmas)

Especially so if MFA has advised postponement.

I was talking to a S'porean friend who lives in BKK. He was saying the demonstrators did not disturb the tourists.

Just that services were disrupted.

Just for clarity. Although it had early European roots, Thanksgiving nowadays is primarily more of a major North American festival/holiday then anywhere else of the so-called Western world. Most of the Europeans, Central n South Americans, and West-Northern Asia would'nt even know much about it. And in Canadian, its celebrated on the 2nd Monday of October, so its already over for them.

Earlier, news reported that there is another group gathering at another site in support of the government.

This is the news that most of us want to hear.

The airport is due to open again after the PAD protesters ponder moving out soon after proclaiming victory in this afternoon's verdict against PPD. Whatever! We are not interested in thai politics. We just want the airport to open before Xmas. I think they will move out just before the king's birthday on the 5th.
