Dont you just hate it when airlines email you with a change of flight schedule that sort of ruin your holiday plan a little.

I was surprised to receive an email from jetstar this morning notifying me (not that I was given any choice) that my morning flight to Bangkok on the first day of CNY has been changed to a night flight at 7.40pm!!! That means when I reach the bangkok, it will be almost 8plus- meaning a whole day wasted!

When I tried to change the flight to a day earlier, no surprise that the flight has been sold out and I also noticed that there's only a night flight to BKK as well, no morning flight.

I wonder whether the recent airport closure has got to do with Jetstar canceling its morning flights- a strange thing to do especially during the popular chinese new year period. I like their morning flight best of all. You arrive at BKK at nine and barring horrendous traffic, you can check in and be out on the street at 10am. Just nice. Now, this has to be happened and I am quite pissed off.

I suspect that following the diastrous closure of Suvarnabhumi airport which resulted in not just Jetstar (but other airlines) losing so much money, Jetstar is playing it safe by flying just once to Bangkok. In case the protesters camp out again at Suvarnabhumi, they might suffer less. It's a wait and see attitude. Also, they might be massive cancellation to Bangkok these few weeks as many are wary of the situation there.

well, Tiger also changed all it's morning flights to afternoon/night time. My friend received the email as well. Guess there must be something behind that as to why both have to change it's departure timing.

I was a little angry when Jetstar called me up yesterday morning to inform me that my morning flight to bkk next week has been canceled and would I want to change to a night flight or get back refund!!! Of course I dont want a refund- that might take months. What to do??? Have to settle for the evening one. Earlier my CNY flight also changed. Very sian. A full day wasted.

When I asked the caller why canceled, he meekly replied that it was for 'security reason'. But I suspect the real reason behind the cancellation is that many travelers are still scared to go to Bkk and have been canceling or postponing their trip there. My friend told me SIA also has been canceling a day flight there, down to two flights from the original three since a week ago.
