May not be a big deal, as it is an indicator of sorts.

Entertainment is often big business elsewhere as the market is much bigger than Singapore, and hence the competition of talents and good looks.

 

A foreign A-star actor can come to Singapore and still be an A star (but they won't coz local stations cannot pay them, and mediocre assignments).

A local A-star actor can go abroad and will unlikely be an A-star there.  Most are lucky if they can get supporting roles. It's like a girl playing the role of a servant girl in China can look much much better than the main actress in a Singapore production.
