If any masseur chooses to give the client alitte "Extra (Bonus)" because of his mood or likings of the client. Nothing to argue abt it. (unless it's part of the deal(services)

But if the Masseur anyhow massage the client because the client is not his preference. then i say "FXXXXXXXXX IT"

This is something about unprofessional services and cusumer's money, and it needs to be warned to who ever concern.

My, my...looks like the thread on "Robin" has generated quite a lot of interest! I was wondering about the fact that there were no field reports on him, despite the fact that he has been advertising on SgBoy for quite a while now. I have been patronizing him for sometime, and I must say that I am pleased with his skills and service thus far. Thus, I am rather perplexed at what homeboi wrote. Here is my take on his massage experience.

Premises

Robin (of Tampines) operates out of a 3-room HDB flat. The massage room is well-decorated with a pastoral print on the walls. There is a sturdy and proper massage bed. He has also installed soothing water features and the ambience sets the right mood for a relaxing massage. It is also private as he is the sole owner of the the flat. The customary drink is offered before the session. One thing to note...he owns many pets so those with canophobia should beware!

Prelude

According to the plaques on his wall, he is qualified and fully certified. Personally, I find that he is particularly adept at Swedish and deep tissue. The oils he uses are also of a higher grade and do not stain the clothes afterwards (e.g. sweet almond etc). Occasionally, he will even concoct a special blend for his regulars!

The massage

The massage is performed with medium to firm pressure, albeit I prefer it hard. From what I have seen, he does not watch the clock. However, he does occasionally get interrupted by his mobile phone but he always apologises profusely if he has to take the call. I have never felt that he "anyhow massaged" me. In the past, he used to experiment with heat therapy and mechanical vibration as an adjunct to his therapy. He is entirely professional and the extras (if any) only come at the end of the session.

The masseur

Robin is muscular and defined, although a bit on the short side. He obviously keep himself in great shape and is friendly. He can be verbose or taciturn depending on what mood his customer is in...quite a good conversationalist. He is comfortable in mandarin, hokkien & english. He can appear rather fierce at first, but that is only a facade.

Price

He charges SGD80 per hour.

Disclaimer

As for the claim that he "chooses customers", I think it'll be prudent to remember that massage therapists are out to make a living. Thus it would be commiting economical suicide for him to refuse customers just because they are not his type. Thus before passing judgement, I'd strongly advise the reader to try him out first.

In summary

If you like someone professional with a great body and who is able to give a medium-firm massage, then I would strongly recommend Robin.

In defense of Robin...

Well i have been to him twice and both time i left feeling good about the whole experience, considering that I travelled all the way from the north to his place.

He is indeed professional in his approach and I do not beleive that he chooses his clients. I think that is a bit strange. He has a good number of clients. To date he is the most "true to description" masseur I have been to that operates from home.

His home is pleasant. Very nicely decorated. Gives the impression that you are truly entering a spa and mentally you know that what is to follow is a relaxing experience. It is obvious that he loves plants and dogs. But his dogs are very well behaved. They are confined in the kitchen and you will not even hear them or smell them. They are well-behaved and well-maintained.

He give s a good swedish massage that is comfortable and relaxing. He does chat a little if that is to your pleasure. he speaks good english, no doubts about that.

I was not too bothered about handphones and all that. he does rely on that for his biz.. we have to be fair and it is not as if he has a long conversation on the phone. the interuption lasts barely a moment.

The oils he uses, i totally agree, are of good quality. Not like the baby oils and lotions that some home masseurs use.

Price wise, ok a little on the higher side... but i think it is affordable and reasonable considering the treatment that we receive.

On the whole:

Masseur: 4/5

Ambience: 4.5/5

Treatment: 4.5/5

I totally diagree that he "anyhow" massage... If you want to know about one that does that... ha ha... it will be one that you find in Marine Crescent. He evens runs others down. Not too professional.

Let me add to some of the earlier posts on Robin. I want to start by stating that I'm not Robin. I've experienced his service several times, over a period of 1-2 years.

I agree with the comments posted (csteol88, amazonian, guest_guest) about Robin. His place is cozy and he's muscular, "no attitude" and friendly.

I especially like his style of massage. He starts the session shiatsu style. The client lie face down on the massage bed and he climbs on top of you. He then use his knee joints and hands, to move up and down the length of your back-body, using his body weight to press, stopping sometimes rocking like a cradle. I find this one of the best part of the massage. Its very relaxing. He told me that he'd had some training on shiatsu massage and blended it with Swedish.

He then proceeds with normal Swedish massage. The earlier posts have given details of this so I won't elaborate. He starts with the back, then the front. The other unique thing about him is that he then does a very good face massage. Its very relaxing too.

The last part of the massage is also unique. You get off the massage bed, the bed is pushed aside to create an empty space in the room. Then with both sitting on the floor, he moves on to some stretching exercise on your body.

Another observation I have is that when he's massaging one part of your body (say, the lower half), he covers the other part (say, the upper part) with a towel. That way you don't feel cold. This is a standard practice I also noticed in professional high-end spas. It reflects his training. You don't find this in some of the other home masseaus.

This is the end of the professional massage. He then ask if you want to continue with body-to-body massage. There's extra charge for this.

During the massage, he may get interrupted by calls. Those calls are brief. Overall, I find Robin's massage very good. If you're looking for professional massage in a cozy spa atmosphere with someone who's obviously well trained, he's a good choice. He's not the right person to go to if you're looking for sensual massage (like Nick of Yishun/Clementi or Adryan of Woodlands). However, he's not the other extreme end either (like Vincent of Sengkang).

I do agree that the massage Robin gives is definitely relaxing and value for money. Personally I enjoy his massage session, he will always ask if he is using too much strength or is the temp alright.

With regards to the handphone part, we just have to give n take abit lor. So far during my session with him(so far visited him at least 5-6times), his phone at most rang just once or twice. I can live with that...he depend on that to get in touch with client too yah...guess those in sales like myself can agree to that. even when we meet client, other client may also call up. It only right to just answer and say you call them back shortly.

ambience wise...there really isnt anything i can comment. definitely cosy, clean n tidy. His pet dog doesnt even bark at presence of strangers...prob just curious abt you... definitely well behave dogs.

The Male Therapist just charge me Traditional Swedish $75 for 1 hr 15 min, i always heard that if you go to their place for massage ( Home Massage ), should be cheaper cos they don't need to pay for the transports. To me around $50 should be a decent price, more than that abit...Again, i always believe that if you happy about their skill & service, you don't mind to pay more if you can afford.

$80 in a HDB home massage! GOSH! asking for heaven leh!

i went to a posh shop spa with rain shower and steam bath scrub only need to pay $75, the massage skill is above average some more.

no matter how to charge $80 in HDB home is way too high, $60 is the highest that can be acceptable.

compare to the same skillfull masseur that practice in HDB home , for example; EDDIE at Hougang, full massage, great spa ambience too, shower product and massage oils using high end brand DERMALOGICA, hot towels to warm up ur body 1st, while facing upward he use Essential eye pouch to relax ur eyes, he done every bit to make you feel the commercial spa standard kind of service, and u only pay $50 for all !

and patrik at Bayshore condo, also spa ambience , especially the therapy room like those Bayan tree spa, essential scent pouch to relax u too, spa tea to serve u b4 and after massage, above average massage skill, walk out with contented service also pay only $38.

Today, the massage is very expensive in Singapore, particularly for some of home masseurs charge above $60. After deducting the cost of renting of hdb flat (if the flat is not own by him), massage oil, shower water consumtion and miscelleous laundry servics (cleaning, washing etc), the net profit of each massage session (1hr at $70) is very profitable.

If you have lots of spare cashs, by all means to spend as you like.

Just tried Mr Ang of AMK, enjoyed his service very much. Though the room is small, the ambience is nice and not too cramp. Nice dim lights with good music. He is very pleasant, nice lean built just the type I like. He is very patient and is more fluent in his mandarin though English is no problem to him as well. As it is my first session with him I did not touch him though I would very much like to do so! Clean bed and clean towels.The whole session was 90 min for $50, I would defintely go to him again. I am also keen to try others just to compare the experience.

The whole session lasted 2 hours. Indeed a patient guy.

The massage comes with a scrub for 50 dollars.

He started off with acupoint massage then swedish massage.

It was a pleasant experience.

How do I try the services of Han from Water spa huh? Do I call water spa and ask for Han when doing the appointment?

Hanz is a young and good looking masseur there, he is pretty popular. If you are interested to try out Hanz, its better to make appointment with him 1st before you visit Water Spa.
