Me around 10 to 15mins of home exercise during weekdays and during weekends go run with my group of friends around 5km to 10km. I dont gym. To me a good nutritional diet is much more important than exercise but we do still need some exercise

Before the coronavirus pandemic, I regularly worked out four days per week, unless I had overseas work assignments or was on vacation (in which case I still usually found ways to hit the gym at least twice per week).

The plague era got me back into jogging four days per week, to partially offset the periods of lacking gym access, but the effect was not good enough for me. I have been trying to get back to four days per week since last summer, but due to a heavy workload and often feeling very tired, I'm lucky if I make it to the gym three times per week. Very frustrating and below my standards.

My goal is to get back to four days per week from what I would say right now is an average of five days every two weeks (three days one week, followed by two days the second week, or something along those lines).

I go for brisk walk or jogging around 30 mins to an hour almost as many times per week if i can find time. Will it be too much?

My AM session: 3 days continuous 40-50 minutes Gym + 12-15 mins Elliptical.

Then 1 day rest - sometimes Rest day i will do a max of 25 mins of elliptical.

My PM session: Daily. Max at 25 minutes of crunches.

Occasionally swimming approx 20 mins (1 week up to 3x)

I used to do cardio only — long swims, bike, run — because I was an active triathlete when I could afford the time to train

Now, no matter the distance, I no longer burn as much fat

I know the science behind it — we have to build muscle to boost shedding of weight so these days, I dedicate 5 days a week to do intensive 30 min runs (sometimes at tempo pace, sometimes fartlek), followed by gym work + at least 15min of intensive abs workout

I think it works but the rate of body transformation is slower than when I was in my 30s

Building muscle is good when you are getting older, to stronger our bones. No need to gym until muscular bod but at least carry some weights. That's why i try to go to gym at least 2-3 times per week to strengthen my muscle, even though i hate going to gym.
