SAFRA Tampines is my favourite branch 😄 simply because it has a competition pool with 2 continuous lanes for serious swimmers! The changing room is the biggest and most well-ventilated, so even after a hot shower (yes, hot water!), you won't perspire while changing (unlike TPY or Yishun). Well, whether it is cruisy depends on the weather (sunny means more 'peacocks'), timing and the crowd. However, the pool will be closed for major upgrading for 2 months, starting 15 July 2025 👎...

Why do they need to upgrade when they are moving out! They moving to a condo infested area which don’t serve common army folks.

At first look, I thought the machines are new, but mostly are old machines, just reconditioned the seats/cushions to all black (previously was maroon/reddish in colour). As I didn't use level 1 previously, looking around, I believe most of the old machines are still around and there are some new ones (likewise some new machines are available on level 2).

They did some touching-up for that 2 machines I mentioned previously (see image in my previous post quoted ☝️).

 

 

 

I was pleasantly surprised to see the touch-up (see image below).

The weight labels were 'newly pasted/labelled', that's a good move by the staff eh!

 

 

 

They also did a few labels for some of the other old machines, but not all old machines, I wonder why so...

For example, these other 2 old machines 👇, surely would need the touch-up too, haha.

Oh, just realised also that they removed the notice(s) on "No nudity" in the jacuzzi - that's a good sign too!

Safra Tpy E1 after revamp looks like and classier! 
the steamroom new steam outlet near the door provides a good cover as really cannot see from outside due to the steam. Whoever that redo the steamroom point deserved a raise! Confirm it going to be the most cruisy gym.

Well, sorry to inform you that it’s out of order once again. It was working well last Thursday when I was at the gym. Unless patrons stop switching it on and off each time there isn’t any steam, the steam room will always be down.

That 'new' notice you mentioned is the bigger and black one right? It is actually the same one where they previously put it at the low wall between steam room door and the steps. Yes, I knew of that notice.

 

I was referring to the individual and separate notice that specifically targeting at jacuzzi users (on no nudity). Just hope they don't put it back, haha.

Yes, of course, it is one thing to ignore the notice, but another when the staff comes around to make sure all members are following the rule. I had actually seen the staff (different staff) checking it on 2 separate occasions, so still need to be discreet about being nude eh, haha.

With reference to my previous post ☝️, updating the 3 points I mentioned:

• The laminated "no nudity" notice (only for jacuzzi) is back, as @Dashy_Boy had said, it is even more elaborated than previous one before renovation, oh well... haha
• The Pec Fly machine has touched-up done (see image below)
• The Leg Press machine - nothing done

 

 

 

 

There is a possibility that one (or more) of E1 gym staff actually read this thread, or even the forum? Haha.

 

However, I rather it was because the gym member(s) providing feedback to them, that they did those touching-up (and just coincidentally, after I'd commented on those selected old machines).

How do they check if u are naked when u r in the jacuzzi?  Did they actually tell people off if they see anyone naked ?

It is actually not difficult to tell if one is wearing any shorts underneath the water. I think if one doesn't cause any trouble, they pretty much leave you alone.

I was there in the jacuzzi and I was surprised to see the security is doing the check rather than the cleaner, it might imply they are serious about it.

So.... the staff going around checking may not be coincidental... 

So the lesson to learn is... sometimes just act blur, keep quiet, don't bring up, don't mention, don't talk. Life goes on.

All the postings abt the signage gone and hopefully not coming back, and now back, throughout giving so many descriptive details... reminds me of the Chinese saying - 此地无银三百两. Sometimes, less is more.

Isn't it clear? It's not about whether you wear trunks or not. It's just too obvious that people are just not respecting this place as a public place. There are just too many guys who play at this place as if it's a gay-only establishment. Respect the place and let the straights have their peace and time in the jacuzzi/steam room too. It's too obvious that something has happened and they have reported to the staff. 

 

So, these checks by security is to ensure some of the despos (young and old alike) behave. Can't take the hint meh?

 

Please lah, don't be so desperate can? There's a time and place for everything. If too horny, go somewhere like keybox or tenmen, or any where private.
