Went to the new Mandi Manda. It is in it's old location in Taman Desa, but now only the middle and top floor. It was hard to find at first - but thankfully someone posted a pic looking out the window and I figured it out. Newly painted square grill gate, grey in colour

 

Entrance was expensive - RM85 for a new membership, entry and a free entry card. I was a previous member from their Cheras location and they didn't accept trade in - this was very disappointing. Same lanky foreign worker who manned the front desk. It is also cash only - so note this if going.

 

It was quite small and narrow - on the lower level was lockers and lounge area. I went on a Saturday evening from 6pm to 8pm. Tea and coffee and red-bean tongsui was served - so no hot meal like the Cheras location, which is disappointing.

 

Upstairs was the showers, steam sauna (which was exact same layout as the Cheras location), and maze/dark rooms. Initially, I felt the dark rooms were too dark. It was pitch black; but I guess my eyes adjusted after a while. There were 5 private cubicles also.

 

When I was there - it wasn't dead quiet but it also wasn't anywhere near as popular in its glory days. I would say at most 20 to 30 patrons or so when I went on a Saturday night.

Only steamroom? No dry sauna? 

If so then this new MM is not worthwhile to go anymore. There are other existing sauna with dry sauna and steamroom at the price less than and at RM30.

If their Cheras branch business couldn't survive, I doubt they can survive in this old location.

It is quite pricey for the average Malaysian, for sure. I guess it's to subsidise the errr...kopi money. I always thought the Cheras branch was very popular up until all the raids - and it closed due to its location..anyway, hopefully it becomes back to it's glory days.

A KL friend told me Teman was raided twice in the past few weeks. Many of its masseurs got arrested. Heard also that they do not have a valid license to run the business. Guys, just avoid it. With the premium price it charge, not a safe place to go anymore.
