That hotel is a distance away from Patong beach and the gay district.  I am sure it will be peaceful.

Let's not exaggerate on Phuket. 

 

Stay away from the "Red Light District" at Patong, meaning the girl's bars. 

 

After sunset be careful if you encounter drunk Russians, in particular if they are in groups. Go silently the opposite direction, if you're clearly identifiable as gay (e.g, rainbow colours, I'm proud to be gay T-shirt) avoid any too crowded places after sunset. But don't act submissive, it might provoke them to attack you as they judge you as easy victims. Best would always be to be in a group of 2 or 3. 

 

However, I think the gay triangle in Phuket (Paradise Complex)  is safe. Just be more cautious if you move out to the main street. 

 

If you intend to be safe then book the Royal Paradise Hotel just next to the area. 

 

Phuket is anyway a place full of weird people (even gays), which means be cautious and alerted at any time. (K.O drops, pickpockets, theft, cheats ...)

 

But, besides that it still is a fun place!

 

From my experience the gay abundance of anything in ethnic background, kinks, action can be found there. You might even encounter a Russian bottom wearing girl's lingerie...
