And Enelym, yes, those two pics are from Mont St Michel, the first of the Abbey's hall and the latter of the cloister.

To guitar18070: I'm also a newbie (1 yr +) so don't have much knowledge in photography yet. But if I can give my thoughts, I think your photos are sharp, but they lack the main object, or the main object does not stand out from the surroundings.

Among your photos I like this one below:

Something to share from my recent trip to kyoto...not sure if it is up to standard...feel free to comment.

I struggled with my camera too for the first 6 months. But the more I went out and shoot, my skill improved, at least that's how I feel. Photography needs passion and effort in order to improve, or sustain.

Happy shooting : )

Btw, what camera and lens you use?

Hi whoiam,

Thanks for the tips...trying to improve my skills for quite some time...but dunno what's the problem.

I have 1 basic dslr (too bulky for me,haha) and 1 dummy camera(cannon powershot)... The pics I took using the dummy camera....haha..

I only get to practise it when I m traveling....else,hardly touch my camera...tats why I am joining this chatroom to find out more... It's nice to see so many beautiful pics here.

Its not the camera.  Its how you use it or not.

Too often people think of all the fancy new-fangled tech and gear that is what makes a great picture.  It isn't.  Ansel Adams never had the latest Nikon or Canon or Sony, but his photos are still beautiful to this day.  There are a lot of great pictures out there, understanding (not just knowing) what makes them work, and learning to make your own pictures work, that is what will make more beautiful pictures.

And it is NOT PhotoShop either.

I was just lucky, MP.

I have not been there for... many years! And I did not go inside the Arènes.

You know France better than I do... :thumb:

Oh no, I hardly know France.... other than visiting those touristy spots.

Anyway the two above the Arles pics are from Pont Du Gard.   :P

Here's more of Nimes for Enelym and Phil and everyone

Ahhh, Valencia and the Hemispheric.

Kitsune, when did you visit?  When I was there, I suffered severe winds, and a mere 20mins was agony for shooting.   :(

Hello MeowPrince,

I think during winter time the weather is more harsh... I was there around early November and it was rather cooling, but it will get rainy when it comes to winter... I was lucky being there at the right time.

Really enjoy seeing your pictures and unfortunately I can only recognise just 1 or 2 places...

The Van Gogh café is certainly in Arles.

The cat... could be everywhere

The steps in the sand... too! Saint Tropez? Toulon? Tahiti? Sahara? Dubai?...

Thebridge, I really don't know; maybe the East entrance of Toulon?

So far so good, Phil.   ;)

The top right is that coastal fishing/oyster town I had to go to - Cancale

The lower right was the river Loire between Onzain/Chaumont.

Here's some other random pics from the trip...

And some from my first day in Spain

IKR, the lower-left is a rather amusing building... *ahem*
