Hit Factory Live, which takes place on July 11 in London’s Hyde Park,
was put together to celebrate the 25th anniversary of producer Pete Waterman’s PWL record label.

Though this concert failed to take place after all,
Stock Aitken Waterman is considered to be one of the most successful songwriting and producing partnerships of all time,
scoring more than 100 UK top 40 hits, selling 40 million records and earning an estimated £60 million (about $103.78 million)!

Which is your favourite SAW hit of yester-years?

Yay!!! It's gonna
after all!!!

Any Steps fans here?

Remember this classic tune anybody?

Words - F.R. David

Me Me Me!!!

Around the same time, my favourite group was Bucks Fizz.

I had a few of their $2.50 cassettes then.

This is one of their No.1s... My Camera Never Lies

And Those Days Are Gone

Here's midweek again...

I've been wondering for some time, why is there a mid-week chart or the purpose.
Is it boosting of sales?

Previously, not unless you are in the music business,
Midweek charts (or Sales Flashes) are used by the music industry as a guide to what is likely to happen in the final, end-of-week chart.

There was no official release or industry authorisation to release midweek information to the general public or the media.
In fact, all official chart information is copyright protected,
and the Official Charts Company will request any organisation distributing this copyright data without permission to cease and desist.
In turn, further action may be taken if this request is not adhered to.

However, in March 2010 the Official Charts Company launched the Official Chart Update,
and it reveals how the runners and riders are selling in the first few days of the week,
outlining the hottest new entries and the highest climbers for both singles and albums.

Now you can see the Official Chart Update every Wednesday at 4pm (GMT) here,
and for now, here's more mid-week new entries boiling further down the chart...

Wonder Feat. Emeli Sandé - Naughty Boy (new @ #10)

Flaws - Bastille (new @ #14)

So far, Stooshe's singles have been the retro-Amy-Winehouse style. They are modernised in terms of looks and there are some hooks to their songs, though not as great as Winehouse's.

Hey, check out Stooshe's latest single, Waterfalls,

a cover version this time, taken from their self-titled debut album...

If you like their tune,

you could sample the whole album below, out Nov 26...

Oh, this is one of my current favourites as well,

one that fits perfectly under the "Alternative Music Fans" & "Songs That Stir My Emotion" threads. Njoi!

A welcome return from Scouting For Girls,

following the less successful

to the above Love How It Hurts...

Without You - Scouting For Girls

A hit or a miss?

Emile Sande - I'm liking her more and more.

The female Brit singers I adore - Adele, Winehouse, Florence, Rebecca Ferguson...

Power of Love - Gabrielle Aplin's version is very ethereal. Nice.

But I much prefer FGTH's.

Somehow, they have this rawness in the singing and the music arrangement that touch my inner being.

I became part of the song, lifted to the sky and back to earth by Holly's mesmerizing vocals.

Lol. I just love FGTH's version.

Florence and the Machine... Hmmm not too drawn to this track yet but thanks for highlighting this song. Sometimes I get to love a song only after a few spins.

It's a different feel as compared to say Dog Days Are Over and Cosmic Love, where there is this mystery and a feeling of happiness upon discovery a gem.

X-Factor judge Tulisa claims this mid-week’s highest new entry,

taken from her debut solo album, The Female Boss,

this is also her third Top 20 solo hit...

Sight Of You - Tulisa (mid-week #12 )

I didn't like it when I first heard her performed last weekend on the X-Factor show,

but it's growing on me now after repeated listens.
