Ns Handphone Or Smartphone?

Hi fellow BW-ers,

I am writing this short post to seek opinions from everyone here.

Thank you and appreciate your valuable time and guidance!

My hp plan is expiring in few weeks time, and I am enlisting in few months later. Currently I am using normal phone with no data plan. Should i just continue with normal line or get a data plan now? However as I am enlisting soon, is data plan necessary/feasible for me? since i will be in the camp. Is it that bored in camp that I have to get a data plan to get myself entertained?

Do I have the time to use my smartphone if i get the data plan? That will also mean that I have to get a Non-Camera smartphone.

I heard from a few that sneaked in Iphone/itouch though.. lol!

You can use iTouch in camp, but it's quite hard if you plan to sneak in iPhone all the time, especially if you're not driving to camp.

Best if you can get a non-camera smartphone with a data plan. Most use Nokia E51 or HTC Snap.

Better to be safe than sorry. If you get caught... you might get into deep water... hmm

buy a blackberry or htc... the kind that has no camera...

It can be pretty boring when you're in camp so having a data plan would be nice when you're bored...

Personally I don't wanna waste my money... lol So I'm using a cheap nokia phone haha with a normal line...

But hey go with whatever you feel is best for you... lol

A normal nokia phone might be better with cause of the longer battery life. U can also buy blackberry or HTC those without cam, but as a rec, I advise u not too, cause things might get lost easily. And also, these phone battery life drain fast and u wont be able to bring ur charger unless u gt portable charger. Smartphones after u get out of BMT would be more advisable...

Don't decide yet. Continue on with your current line till you pass out from BMT.

Some classified units do not allow smartphones.

this i agree see where you posted to and ask your seniors if it is ok to bring in first...but i think smart phones in general are ok but black berry some restrict because of the encryption of messages through bbm

They need iPad la.

So they can train on Angry Birds so their aiming would improve. :D

And train in Temple Run so they can dodge and jump effectively.

Hi think of getting a non camera smartphone , do anyone have any advise please

Hi, you can consider iNo One non-camera smartphone.

http://www.inomobile.com.sg/ino-one-non-camera-phone/

It uses Android 4.0.3 (ice-cream sandwich), and it does not have a camera (no camera hole, so there's no need for MSD sticker for those bringing to camps).

It all depends on your lifestyle, as in the need to get connected.

In addition could explore the prepaid internet option rather than to have post paid data.

As for non camera smartphone, skip the HTC snap . (is really a hang phone ! 4 out of 5 personnel whom I know of, their HTC snap average lifespan is 1 year, with high frequencies of system error)

Huawei and iNO if you are comfortable with Android platform. (not sure of the durability).

And there's always the good o trusty blackberry..

Tekong camp allows camera smartphone, but you are not allowed to take photos with it. If found out, you will be charged. Also, Smartphones cannot be bigger than Samsung Galaxy S3.

All service providers of prepaid allows u to choose. Why not get postpaid? You can use 3G services in camp too :P But recommend you choose M1/Starhub, Singtel sucks.
