However, I found a gem in that movie -- the young Tibetan Monk !! The actor is so damn yummy with big, bright eyes and boyish face. Search the net, he is actually a canadian born chinese -- Osric Chau. Found some video-clip of him, he actually behave very "sister" in the interview -- like our dear CNA anchor girl .... hahahaha If he appears in the sauna, all tops will like to joy-ride him ....... oralb Posted November 14, 2009 Report Share Posted November 14, 2009 Just caught the movie today... learn something in order to survive the end of the world- Horned up the driving skills... apparently a limo can out-run earthquake- Start plane flying lessons... you never know when you need to fly a plane to survive, even after a few lessonsI would have call this movie "Natural Disasters Buffet" you have your usual suspects of Earthquake, Volcano eruption, Tsunami etc. The problem is the director likes to throw everything a few times, with a long running hours of 2 and 1/2, you really get the CGI worth of disasters. But by the Nth time the disaster, I got numb over it.When you talked about narrow escape, I dont expect to see the movie to let the family gone through narrow escape many many times, this literal abuse of "close call" made the movie very unrealistic. Another unrealistic part is that, in order to make the movie family-friendly, there was no blood, no dead bodies, no body parts considering earthquake and tsunami just strike the city.Not to mention the "3rd party" got conveniently taken care of so that the family can reunited for the better world. Once again, if you like your movie filled with CGI effects, where character and plot development take a back seat, 2012 is a good offering. There were some comical moments in the movie. In the midst of disaster where the people needed to escape from the plane using the sports car before it crashed into the mountain. The people were urgently trying to start up the car engine and the owner of the car shouted to all the people to stay quiet in order for him to start the car engine using a voice command. Lastly, almost at the end of the movie, the scientist was suggesting making love to the president's daughter. She replied "let me check my diary". Aiyor ! Wanna make love go ahead lah, still try to act virgin Here's the rating : Storyline - 1 out of 5CG effects - 5 out of 5Conclusion, for the fun of it you may watch this movie.
