Slynn
You guys can consider a Bamboo series from Wacom. It is a lower end model for casual sketching. Because Intuos is the series that is geared towards professionals and art studentsBamboo primarily has half the sensitivity and pressure of a Intuos series. But it still works well There's even a "Bamboo Manga" model nowBest is that you guys go try the tablets out during IT show or something XD I myself never bought one though even though I want it badly >_<Did a quick doodle after i saw this thread. Simmon
lol. Well, I don't mind doing a collaborative art if someone can give a good idea on it. As I mostly do 3D modelling, I can only do things like add smokey effects with my Maya or model a 3D character so i'm most probably useless lol. Unless it's a video. Which isn't what we're striving. Then when you add the skinning and texturing, maybe it will not be as good looking. Perfect that then try to animate it. Animation is tough to make realistic. Then try facial expressions. Mind sharing with us what course you are in?Don't worry, my year 1 work 4 years ago looked way more horrible. lolUsually to make a picture look nice you need to have a Beauty pass, and at least an Ambient Occlusion pass (and edit them together on Photoshop). Sometimes I uses Diffuse pass too. If you don't have any light source you manually put in the scene, you should render with mental ray with Global Illumination and Final Gathering. merlinkun
I don't claim to be good in 3D, in fact I am one of the weakest in 3D in my class but this is one of my work that shows how to make render look nicer:So you have to render the 3 image out (Beauty aka Base, Diffuse, AO) and then use Photoshop, put the Diffuse and AO on top of Beauty, then use things like Multiply or Soft Light and adjust them accordingly until the picture look desirable. merlinkun
Oh for animation what I do is do the same thing but render out in Image Sequence (a bunch of PNG/TIFF image files), 1 set as Beauty and another in AO then do the same thing that I would do in Photoshop in After Effects. After Effects can take in Image Sequence.Advantage of Image Sequence is that compared to AVI or other video format (or via Playblast), the quality is still kept and not compressed as much. And thanks, I don't get the smooth part, you mean the orange bucket? Yeah I just use Smooth Edge, it is actually pretty low poly. Quote https://merlinsfolio.wordpress.com/ https://medium.com/@merlincheng "On the Internet, no one knows you are a cat."
