Let's start a discussion thread on your favourite spandex tops and bottoms, but before we start, Lycra is the brand name for spandex or elastane fibres invented by DuPont.

I have always like spandex tops and bottoms especially those of compression fit, but only started to buy and wear them a few years back when I lost weight from regular jogging. My favourite and only brand of spandex tops are from Under Armour (UA) while my favourite and only brand of spandex bottoms are from N2N Bodywear. I have not tried other brands because I am a creature of habit.  :)

For UA tops, I prefer long and short sleeves ones. I do have one or two sleeveless ones but I don't have the upper body type to give it justice. :) Those tops I have are compression fit but with different degree of tightness depending on the cutting and material. All of my UA stuff are bought direct from UA  of USA and shipped via vPost. I usually go for UA Outlet store for discount. Even though UA is now in Singapore, I do find that it is a little more expensive and the local collection is not wide enough. If you are of small stature, I just discover that UA has Youth sizes so perhaps you can try their YXL size.

I go for N2N Bodywear bottoms because they are mostly low-waist. :) As you know, those personal love handles are the last and most difficult part of you body to be rid off. Incidentally, N2N is an acronym for Next-to-Nothing. N2N tights are not compression fit except for one of their collection. I purchase direct from their web site and Air Mail shipping is free for orders USD75.00 and above. Go for their Black Friday / Winter Sales for hefty discount.

I like sports brands like 2XU and Zoot. Both these brands give very good compression to th torso and they have somehow manage to reduce fatigue and speed up recovery. Not cheap but I'm happy to pay for the price.

P/s: @victorp: thx for starting his thread. :)

It will be interesting to know by how much or to what degree does the compression fit helps in reducing fatigue and speeding recovery. I have heard a lot about the benefits in these area and UA does sell these recovery/recharge tops and bottoms, but I understand that you need to wear them for at least half-a-day or more to obtain the full benefits...not that I mind though. :) I haven't tried myself as it will be most inconvenient at home.

For recovery, I wear it to bed OR I wear it for the next 4-5hrs after long distance run.

I feel it helps me. Could be psychological, could be that it really works. I have not scientific evidence. :P

No one else? I thought we have a few BW members who like and also wear Spandex (Compression) Tops and Bottoms for gym, jogging, etc.

Do you have a preference for any brands and why?
