Does anyone have any reviews of AK Man Spa recently? Feels like it’s hit or miss with them and wondering if anyone has a solid rec (Force is very much my type for reference)

thanks in advance!

I visited Hans before the move to the new place. Its cosy and nice. Most encounters are nice folks who are not persistent if rejected.

Went to Soi13 once but seems to be more for younger crowds.

I prefer stocky man around 40s. I do enjoy in Hans.

The place is big and clean.

i also visited Hans a couple of times. big place, loads of people, mix crowd....

the place i went to is XL. wasn't aware that towels are not given, guys wear underwear. As i travel overseas commando, fell out of place when i was there. hence i went down to the gym, work out naked for 1 hour. then quick shower and left.

recently heard  of I/O which says has a bear crowd. Intend to check out when i fly over in November. Anyone here before? any comments?

yes. a big towel is provided. after you shower, there are abundant of smaller towels to wipe dry and put back the big towel. just put the wet small towels to the basket for them to dry and recycle...

I havent been to soi13 but I read they jack up their admission prices if you are not a local.  Theres a guy on youtube (bry in asia) who did a review on the 3 saunas in taipei.  He says people at soi13 are hot but just stand there and dont initiate.  Such is the privilege of the hot. Hahaha.

Paid NT$800 when I went there in Oct last year. Went again in Jan this year the price increased to NT$1000.

Just came back from Kaohsiung and stayed at singl inn linsen.  Got a private room instead of a dorm... you know for privacy.   The place was ok for the price, its just inconvenient to get to.  Its a bit of a walk from Kaohsiung station.  The other single inn was closer to the station and along the way to the one I stayed in.

The main "attraction" is the bathhouse!  and boy was there a lot of cruising.  Some guys signaled their intention by sitting beside me at the steam room even when the room is empty.  Sometimes they will just stand in front of you at the pools for a very long time.  Others outright touch themselves while looking at me.  Hoo.  That place got hot really quick.

I prefered the sparse 3-5 people crowd in the morning.  The nighttime was just a bit too crowded.

My cruising v-card was taken away there.  It was with a gorgeous guy who looked like a younger Gento Kukuryu.  Full beard 5-o'clock shadow with a nice hairy chest and treasure trail.  Whoo my lord!  He gave me a blowjob and swallowed my load.  It was so hot.  I was flustered and had to leave the inn asap after it was done.  I even forgot to take my blood pressure meds.  The next day, another guy gave me a bj too but my seed spilled on his body.  I did not reciprocate the bjs for fear of catching things but they seemed ok with it.

Both happened in the shower stalls.  So the trick is, if you fancy someone and they fancy you; both go to the bath stalls without closing the doors.

I got such a confident boost there as a middle aged uncle.  Ive never felt so attractive in my life! (hair flip)

Funny thing ive noticed in the private rooms is that the gays there are like prowling tigers.  The moment your door unlocks at night, you will hear some doors unlocking too and they all head to the toilets.  This happens eveytime i take a leak in the middle of the night.

The inn was just incredible for me.

Its just a pity the city doesnt have that much to offer me as a tourist.

Anyone know what the situation at the other branch nearer the main station looks like?

Thanks for the update.  I have never been to Kaohsiung but I will give it a go when I have the chance to go to Taiwan.

Congrats, sounds like you had a really good time. Yeah, I always book a single room when I stay there.
I know that means missing out on some night time adventures in the dorm, but at least more likely to get some sleep.

Not sure about you, but besides the naughty stuff, I also had some lovely chats with the guys there.
Everyone so friendly and easy going.

For me, I have not actually done anything in the shower stalls!  All the stuff have happened in the steam room/ sauna room, or in my room.... ha ha ha

The main station branch was super boring. I think it was only one hot tub, no sauna, no steam room.
Plus each floor has its own showers, so people just end up using the regular showers instead of going to the "bathhouse".

The rooms are much more private (actual proper rooms).

Planning on going to Taipei soon and I want to visit bathhouses. My type is definitely older uncles and daddies (the older the better, I’m ok with grandpas). Where can I find these men? Peng Qun, Da Shanghai Sauna, Hans? Anyone have experience here? Thank you!

I plan to do a "land cruise" across the whole of Taiwan between 9 to 23 Apr. Apart from Taipei and Kaohsiung, any advice on which areas to visit that are cruisy?

Da ShangHai is really run down, but it caters to an older crowd.

Peng Quan is less run down, and has its crowd of older men.

Hans is much newer and is clean, but it has fewer matured men.

Yeah I had a great experience.  Its something i will never forget!

I didnt get to talk to the guys there because my mandarin is kindergarten level at best.   No words were exchanged even with the 2 guys i had action with.  There werent a lot of conversation happening either with the people in the baths.  I probably saw one or two who already know each other just talk among themselves.

As to the action in the sauna and steam, i guess it happens really late at night for all to see right?

I particularly loved the setup at that single inn private room+public bath+good price.

I think with the size of the facility at Hans, you are bound to find someone who catches your eye.   Maybe just go on a weekend night to ensure there a more people.

Thank you! With Da ShangHai and Peng Quan, is it a bathhouse or a boarding house? I can’t tell from the research I did

Both are bathhouses.  Not boarding house, because I did not see any facilities for one to stay there on a long term basis.

Granted, both Da Shanghai and Peng Quan have cubicles with lockable doors, but these cubicles are more meant to the patrons to have a bit of privacy and rest - and whatever else - on a short term basis.

I hope this helps, and I wish you a good time in Taiwan.

Just back from Kaohsiung. I didn’t stay in Single Inn but paid NT490 to use the bath. They provide you with a towel and locker. I was there on a Friday night between 8pm and 10pm and it wasn’t very busy with less than 10 people. The pools were mostly empty as people spent most of their time in the steam room and sauna. Saw 2 guys jerking each other off in the steam room. Lots of cruising but not much action. There were people socializing in the lobby when I was leaving. The place definitely gives off a gay vibe.

On Saturday I visited Hi-man sauna which is not far from Single Inn. It was filled with people of all age range and body types. Facilities look dated but acceptably clean. They have different events on Saturday nights from 9pm onwards. When I visited it was nude night. Managed to have some fun there. Not sure about the rest of the week but it’s worth a visit on Saturdays.

wow, it probably cost less to stay at the dorm, rather than pay for a visit

i would say it is probably not great value, unless you truly just want to soak and steam.

fun wise, depends on luck.

one suggestion would be to use grindr, cos for sure there will be guys staying there, but they may be in their rooms or dorm. so you can ask them to go to the bathroom to meet you.

i found this to be a very social place. Enjoyed my previous stay very much indeed.

Yes, it does look like a very social place. Would love to stay there but I need a quiet room to sleep well.

Does Hi-man sauna provides towel upon checking in? According to their website probably not updated, only underwears are allow on their premises.

You get a small towel upon checking in but there is unlimited supply near the shower area. Some people were in their underwear and some were nude. The dark area was nude only after the start of the nude event.

I just noticed Da Shanghai has changed its name.  I wonder if it has changed owners and/or if the place had been improved.

Does anyone know of an accommodation within Taipei city that has an on-site sento.  The Sento at Single Inn Banqiao was just too small.  4 people and its already crowded.  Bonus if its cruisy but not a necessity.  Thanks for any recommendation!

Hans sauna generally has many chub patrons. Definitely won't be out of place there.

One of the most popular place to stay is Midtown Richardson at ximen. Gay central at that time. You can consider a night or two at mini inn dorm. It can be very fun, but possibly not great for sleep.
