there are various degree of caution when staying in a place like this

you can lock your valuables in your luggage, and then lock your luggage in the locker and make sure your locker key is never out of your sight

but i must say it is probably impractical

say going to toilet for a few minutes, do you take your phone, take your key and whatnot with you?

if i going to the shower and will be 10, 15 minutes, then i will take with me, but just going for a wee, often will just take the risk

same thing with exploration at night, it just feels weird to be carrying all your stuff when people are practically naked

Went to a sauna in Tainan called Green house on a Thursday. Theme was nude. Extremely huge area. Very different from the saunas in Singapore, Bangkok, ChiangMai and Taipei that I’ve been to. You can bring handphones into the maze. The rooms are with bed. Meaning with pillow covers, blankets, etc and a tv that plays 90s porn. A few karaoke rooms. 🤷🏽 a huge movie theatre. Everyone seem to crowd in the steam room and a dark room.

I like that place too. The karaoke room was quite nice.

Oh... wat a waste . was in tainan  2 years ago... search high and low for the sauna.... after a few rounds of walking, finally managed to find the elevator to go up.... when reached the entrance door, seems like very empty.... chicken out and take the elevator back down.... should just go in and see... even if it is empty.... hahaha

Comments on places that I visited during my recent Taipei trip:

 

XL Club - Patrons are mainly guys under 45. Lots of hot bods and also many average ones. Seniors and out of shape ones are rare, probably about 2%. Not that difficult to have fun if you are not picky. The gym area is about 2x of a condo gym, and with sufficient equipment to have a serious workout.

 

Soi 13 - The premise is much bigger than XL Club, so is the weekend crowd. However the proportion of muscular guys is lower here. For this visit I also noticed that there were more twinks than before. NT1000 is overpriced and I would rather pay NT200 to enter XL Club for a better crowd.

 

Huang Chi - The steam room has been demolished and that section is now just an open area. Business seemed to be bad after renovation as there were only about 15 patrons on a public holiday (Oct 10) mid afternoon. The type of crowd is the same as before (mainly matured, chub, seniors). I left after staying for about 30 mins and went over to Chuan Tang.

 

Chuan Tang - The place is much smaller than Huang Chi but surprisingly had about 40 patrons when I arrived. Not many nice bods to look at and didn't notice any hanky panky going on in the steam room or anywhere else. But was sure there were gays among the patrons as I noticed a slim guy kept looking at me and I was at the same time ogling at another young cute hunk lol

oh darn. I saw planing to go Huang Chi next week. Should I change and go Chuna Tang instead? Is there any particular one I should visit? Also was it because you were there in the afternoon that why lesser crowd?

Both Huang Chi and Chuan Tang are no longer gay friendly so maybe just go there to enjoy the hot spring, ogle at naked bodies and make friend with the locals. If like me you prefer gym fit guys, perhaps you will have better chance finding them in Chuan Tang than in Huang Chi.

 

I went to both hot springs on taiwan 10.10 holiday afternoon so I expected the crowd to be about the same as a normal weekend afternoon crowd. But I noticed this time Huang Chi had got a lot less patrons than my previous visits in Oct last year and Jan this year.

The pools were average but the steamroom was sufficiently steamy with actions and I enjoyed the visit overall 😌 recommend to go in the late afternoon maybe 4pm+ onwards.

Planning to go Hans some time next week, but I have no idea how to proceed. Very shy hahaha. Planning to go on 23rd but not sure what time is good to visit? Will things change since it's so near pride?

What's the process like from beginning till the action and the end?

 

Any pointers would be great.

I think the hardest part is to actually go in and press the 8th floor button inside the elevator.

Ive only been there twice but I feel the place is welcoming.  People will stare at the lockers to check you out.  Its part of the prowl.  If you speak chinese, then it will be easier for you.  I cant but the guys ive made out with can speak english... or they just dont talk..  Or cant because my tongue is inside their mouth.  hahaha.

Generally patrons will like to visit when it is crowded or at least I prefer it to be busy and that will be after 6pm or weekends. Just go with an open mind. Pay and the person counter will pass you the locker key and towel. Just observe what others do. First thing first, put all ur stuff in the locker.  If they r naked at the locker area, u strip. If they wear undies, u also wear undies. Then u proceed to explore the place. I have not been to Hans, but I went to soi13 instead. Over there, u need to strip bare after the locker area. Not even allow to wear undies after the locker area. 
Hope you have a good experience in ur virgin visit. 🙂

I agree.  

At my first visit, I was a bit uncomfortable to press the 8th floor button in the elevator to go to Hans Sauna.  But then I reasoned to myself that no one in the elevator knows me, so I did not care if they noticed me pressing the button to go to Hans.  Also, if they exit the 8th floor with me, I would know we are going to the same place, looking for fun, so that is not a problem at all.

I find the patron in Hans very open and accepting, no discrimination against body types. 

 

Just go there, pay your entrance fee, strop naked at your locker. Wrap the towel provided around your waist, then just explore and see what others are doing, and just go with the flow. 

 

If you get pulled into one of the private rooms, relax and have fun!

Due to Pride Hans is likely to be extremely busy.

Last year I encountered times when they had no lockers and have to wait.

With the influx the regular clientele profile is also likely to be different. Probably more mixed rather than mature/bear heavy.
