Or will they charge you more after the treatment?

Or during treatment ask you want this or want that but never tell the price, in the end getting charged a lot?

I actually dont mind pay more, just want to try is the hydro something really good first spend $38 something to try first, if like the ads saying really got effect, then will try to higher price package, coz i tried see doctor in the end nothing changes, spending $400+

hmm. what about the price range?

they have weak and strong laser, the weak and general one cost $100 and consultation will be waived. But the doctor will give you meds (the meds call Nimegen*) + suggest you toner/etc which add ups to $300 (weak laser). I not sure they have stronger laser and how much the cost.

*Nimegen generally makes you feel thirsty and it can cause harm to kidney if you have problems with kidney, it is a meds to smoothing your skin and get a lot of positive feedback all over the world, and it need to be taken continuously and it is not for ladies that want to get pregnant since it will harm the baby and it is not for those having depressions, since it will cause suicidal thought.

I also went to batam in indonesia (Dr. Nina near batam center) for strong laser which also totally cost me $300 including various creams (night/day/sun screen) and no meds. My whole face becomes red like tomato after the treatment, and doctor suggest not going out for 3 days and continuously apply cream on those 3 days.

3 days later, a black color skin peel off my face, to me it look the same initially, but after several weeks it keep getting better.

Strongly advise not to go even you had purchase the $38 promo. because they will use hard selling on you to buy even more expensive package.  this happen to my brother who use once the $38. after that, they hard sell 10 session cost $1000plus. AFTER 10 sessions. no improvement at all. THEY will hard sell again.  lucky, I did stop him from buying.  otherwise , don't how much he is going to pay.

He is having acne problems.

Instead of wasting money. I went online to search for organic facial wash. and went Taiwan to buy oguma spray. Oguma can be found on Q10. price is rather a bit expensive . This is his experience once.

Places which always advertise for cheap promos, or keep sponsoring programmes on TV, are the ones which you should never go. Like someone posted, they give you the black face when you don't respond to their hardsell.

Instead, look out for low profile (yet reputable) salons that seldom do marketing. These places will also sell you, but not "hard".

I won't recommend you to go for that promo. For me, I normally would visit a dermatologist at NSC for any skin concern. It may be costly, but they are more of a specialist than those Beauticians.

I did my co2 laser at the wellness suite at orchard. Dr Yong is AJ too so I'm very comfortable with him. I did a few sessions so far and my skin condition and texture improved drastically. my sand paper moon surface skin now sooo much smoother and I gained more confident now. I also did their hydrafacial which I think is the best facial ever in the market. you can check out their website. Dr Yong n staff are not pushy. they do recommended me the package for co2 which I bought without feeling being force.

I do not recommend you to go unless you are super rich or thick skin.

I tried many years back at NAC outlet with the $18 with Freebies promo deal. Before treatment starts, will ask if you want add-ons, etc which is of course chargable and is not cheap per add-on... during the treatment, will ask you again.

After treatment, the hard selling comes in... I was ask to sign a 10 sessions for $5,000+, I told her directly that my face is not worth $500+ per hr. Then she reduce the amount to $3,000+, to $1,000+... then reduce the sessions to 5 to 3 to 1. As i insists not signing package, then hard selling their products which cost me $2,000+.

I learn to be thick skin before i went, so did not get anything from them. The sales person face is as black as charcoal and was super rude once you reject the signing of package... send me out immediately when i say i do not want to buy their products! The worst service and the most hard selling company I ever come across.

This applies to Yun Nam which is under the same company too. Just wanted to try the treatment but they tell me i have hair loss problem, scalp is what what what... where my other shop that i go once a while tell me I have healthy scalp and need not do so much treatment. As usual, hard sell their products and wants you to buy the complete set, they don't sell individual items... so i save money... haha

Went a few years back at Ngee Ann City. I think it's almost the same promo at $35. Right at the beginning, I made it very clear to them that don't be pushy and I'm only there for the trial. I was so called assured by them!

However, during and after the treatment, they kept asking me to add on - masks, ampoules... ...I was asked to sign a package of $7000. They think it's very easy to earn $7000! It was then reduced to $3500 then to $1500 then to $1000 to $500 to $350 to $100. Of course, they still don't take NO for an answer. At the end, the manager asked me to pay $35 for my next treatment. Why must I pay in advance? I still insisted NO! Their black face was getting darker and darker!

She then left me in the room alone for almost 15 minutes thinking that I may repent, I was so pissed off that I opened the door and walked off.

For all the 1st time offers, it is a form to attract new clients to step into the establishment. Thereafter, it gives the opportunity to 'impress' the clients into signing packages (which is where the money and commission is).

Certain brands are notorious for their during facial and after facial behavior. Some succumb through fear that their face will be treated poorly if you were to refuse their top ups etc.

You may wish to google for the experiences that some has bothered to post for the benefit of others in the various forums. There should be plenty for you to digest.

A colleague tried their promo and was pressured to sign on packages. She left $300 as deposit before they let her go cause she was fearful of them.

Never went back sinced and the money just burnt.

To the management of :

New York skin, Yun Nam and London weight - you guys are rascals and unscrupulous crooks.

Same here! My advice is to NOT go even if you paid $38 for it. They do pressurize you alot and after completing two of the $$$$ packages, I do not see any significant improvements. Don't feel my money was well-spent and I still have one more package....

Just to add on, I agree with what others said here - for those considering the free/ discounted trial, unless you are very determined that you would not be pressurized easily, my advice is to really not go. I thought I would not sign up for any package but I was really wrong. I signed up for one after another but don't find the results as they said it would be

Dont believe all these beauty retailers to improve your complexion drastically.

Only surgeons can do it.

I used to have those Citibank vouchers when TRIALS are gave away to "local" credit card holders or sold at very UNBELIEVABLE rates.  I went for one (is Expression, the salon still around?) but was smart enough to have just my phone, NRIC and EZ-link card on me.  Not even $1.

Initially I was brought into the consultation room where a so-called magnifying mirror maximised the size of my pores. She went on to explain the packages available to rectify my problems and told me that the trial was just a demo..on how the machines are used on the face and body.  I gave her my best “Tay-Peng Hui 欠揍“ face and told her that I do expect more from this voucher.  I threatened to report the issue to Citibank.

A manager came out of no-where and offered to meditate the situation.  She highlighted that the voucher was for consultation and NOT service.  Bloody hell....this is in unfair business transaction.  In the end, I got a FREE 20-mins rush-to-hell facial.

Like what the others have mentioned, if you have skin problems, consult from a real doctor from Skin Centre. New York is a beauty industry that only treat your skin on the surface. First treatment, yes, there is a difference. But after a while, the problem will come back.

New York Skin Solutions do hard sell really much and yes, do the talking and talking and pressurizing by leaving you there to "think". If you are not firm enough, you will end up getting talked into signing for one package after another.

They claim to have a 5 day cooling off period with 0 cancellation charges made known to all customers. Nonetheless, I think they tried to ignore and drag it out but I had an email documentation to feedback_nyss@newyorkskinsolutions.com that kinda helped.

DON'T GO AT YOUR OWN RISK

Most OL kena shut inside the small room or while half way through "additional" package here and there.

My personal experience - extra top up of "fluid" while i drowsy in relaxation mood, after payment addtional of $250 from nowhere. They conclude that I agree during the process and pour into my face.

I immediate call police so they offer 50% discount deduction to "chase" me out.

Alot of credit cards are having very good promotions for facial and the price can be as low as $18.

Many people got very tempted and decided to tried it. Where got facial last for 2hrs and only cost $18 when u paid by cerdit cards,

like visa, mc, citi bank and many more.

And when u got there they will treat u like kings and queens, offer you good premium tea serve with branded tea cup and saucer,

and you get started your facial. The first half they will do it very good for you, as it goes along they will tried to talk to u and con u to

add on things as they said you skin is very oily need to add something and to help to improved further and can see immediate results.

Most people got con by them. Becos they will not say the price until everything is over. By then u knew it, it was too late and the bill

can come up to be $380. Then they will be very smart to sell you their packages which they said can offset your $380 from there.

Please dun believed all this offers from credit cards and thinking that you can have a facial for just $18. If you are not careful,

at the end you will end up spend alot of money for nothing.

I used to try out those special deals, massage or facial by qoo10 or groupon now known as fave, out of the many that I have try, only one of them impress me that I sign up a package with them willingly and I even recommend my friend to try them, the rest can be pushy but u just need to be firm, if they start asking u to upgrade during treatment, tell them u r very tired and will talk only after treatment, then after treatment end, immediately call a friend and start talking, pretending u r rushing for time and do not sit down for drink or refreshment that will end up causing u thousand of dollars ha....if u r not a firm person, then keep all your cash and credit card at home and just bring your transit link card only for transport, even if u r impressed and decided to sign up, do not take their first offer, normally they will have the second and third offer which are better offers than the initial one.
