The premise of the OP seems to be that cruising is of higher risk, but that is not necessarily true. Casual Sex Cruising = Casual Sex, that is having sex with a stranger you do not really know. This is not that much different from other forms of casual sex, such as, Meeting on dating apps Meeting at saunas In all these cases, the risks arising from the encounter is uncertain, and one needs to take precautions. Non-Casual Sex For non-casual sex, then it would be with a long-time partner or perhaps friends with benefits. Even then, you cannot control their activities unless you are in an exclusive relationship. So similar risks may still exist Cruising is Generally Intentional In my personal opinion, one generally has to plan to have sex, even if there is a component of chance. Like you need to wash-up and be clean (I hope so...), and if you are bottoming you would want to additionally ensure that you are prepped. So most would cruise prepared, rather than be window shopping and accidentally find themselves up close with cocks in the washroom. Specific STI Risks The main STI risk is HIV as it is a life-long condition (although very controllable with U=U) if infected. The risk with this is anal sex - there isn't any real risk (read as no risk) of HIV transmission with oral sex. So it depends on the type of sex - some people just do oral when they cruise. For more involved penetrations, daily HIV PrEP is highly effective and is more protective than condoms against HIV. People who engage in casual unprotected sex will likely be on HIV PrEP (and I assume this would be the expected standard in the gay community nowadays, otherwise please consider it seriously). The remainder of STIs can be discussion for another day but essentially they are either treatable (syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia), not as consequential (HPV) or inevitable (herpes). Note: Herpes is very common. Quick google search will show that worldwide about 60+% of people under age 50 have oral herpes (HSV-1), more than 20% of people aged 15 to 49 have genital herpes (HSV-2 or HSV-1). It is more of a nuisance, rather than causing any major health threat in a healthy person

Yes, I am HIV- and would be happy to sleep with someone who is HIV+ on consistent treatment and undetectable! U=U! In my opinion, sleeping with a HIV+ who is undetectable is actually safer than, A person who does not know his HIV status or not tested A person who recently tested HIV- but continues to be exposed. Since HIV tests have a window period, some individuals who test HIV- recently could actually be infected recently and be having high viral loads Given this, a HIV+ guy who is undetectable and on consistent treatment is really among of the lowest risks compared to a random guy you pick up.

I'm bottom (36/170/58), looking to practise topping so I can be vers! If anyone is a bottom and also wanting to practice topping, maybe we can practice fucking each other 🙂 I usually go to the saunas.
-
It's not about being in a sauna. As long as there is sex, there is HIV/STD risks. (One can say beds are high risk for STDs / HIV, compared to chairs 😛) There are similarly risks on the apps, with people with HIV / STD around. On being HIV+, U=U. Having HIV but treated and having undetectable viral loads means one cannot transmit HIV! In that way, HIV+ are safer than guys who do not know their status.

I prefer the saunas, because it is What-you-see-is-what-you-get There are shower facilities to get clean easily, and people would have just showered before the action What I find difficult in the sauna is there is some difficulty in gauging interest in other parties, and there is sometimes too much shyness, or some people just don't get that there is no interest. The STD / HIV risk depends on practicing safe sex, and how prolific your hook-up and you are, and it really is not about the sauna or apps. Saunas do give out condoms to every customer, so that helps as a reminder too. I take HIV PrEP when I intend to do it raw. The risk of other STDs is something that PrEPers accept. Testing regularly is important, and HIV test is done 3-monthly for those on PrEP. Otherwise, the recommendation is generally to get tested for HIV and STDs at least annually (consider every 3-6 months if higher risk).

I am looking for 1 - 2 people to rent a flat with! Is anyone interested? Why? Renting a place by oneself is expensive, and renting a room may not be as economical or have restrictions. Renting with others who have common expectations seems a good option! What am I Looking For Let me know if you want to rent together. Some things I am thinking of at the moment: 2 - 3 Bedroom, HDB Flat 2 - 3 Occupants in total (finding 1 - 2 others / housemates to rent with!) Location: North-East (Serangoon, Bishan, Ang Mo Kio, Toa Payoh, Hougang, Whampoa) or somewhere Central. Open to suggestions! Open to having overnight guests (We all like fun! But in a considerate way!) Mutually agreed house rules Prefer someone working full-time My budget is up to $1,200/month for my share. We can discuss about how to split between Master Bedroom and Common Bedrooms. About Myself I am 31 years old and I am working full-time in healthcare. I try to gym on most days, but I don't have a particular hobby. Currently in an open-relationship but my partner won't be moving in. I presently live with my family and am looking to rent to have my own space to do life my own way. And I suppose those who are looking for similar can add to this thread in future! Update I found a housemate! So I'm not looking anymore. Wishing all housemate seekers success!

361 new cases of HIV reported between Jan and Oct: MOH
Clive replied to archdraong's topic in Blowing Wind Main Forum
Intentional spread of HIV is punishable by law. If you suspect you have HIV, and have sex without letting the other person know, it is also punishable by law. However, people with HIV often have no symptoms, feel and look well. So by not going for testing, they will not know they have it or are spreading it. The are government subsidies available according to household income. Pos still face discrimination and stigma, although we are trying to get rid of it. Around 70% of persons with HIV are diagnosed. Raw anal is many more times more risky than raw vaginal. Please at least use PrEP to protect yourself if you are practicing risky sex! -

With treatment, people with HIV live almost as long as people who do not have HIV. They can live a normal life. Living with HIV is however, expensive because of medications. By using condoms, getting tested, staying on treatment for those positive and using PrEP, we can eliminate HIV. -

HIV is easily preventable! Well, sex is good and more sex is fun. We just need to protect ourselves. Always use condoms, correctly. Consider PrEP if you're high risk! Appearances don't predict HIV status. Arguably, attractive guys probably have more sexual partners and hence have higher risk. In the end, HIV can affect anyone, and all gay guys need to protect ourselves and each other! -
FEEL LIKE POOPING WHILE BEING FUCKED? YOU'RE PROBABLY INJURED I learnt that sometimes, when you feel like pooping during sex, it may also because the inside/rectal tissue is injured. Learnt it by experience... A top fucked me deep and hard, and I was left feeling I had to poop for the remainder of the night even though i was empty. LUBE THE INSIDES TO AVOID THIS Making sure that one's inside is lubed well is important to avoid this. You can introduce some lube in there by fingering with lube, or i use a small syringe of lube. I don't know if other people would agree, but I think it does help prevent injury and hence that pooping feeling, and makes anal sex enjoyable and painless. For myself, I don't push when douching, because it might push things down the empty washed out rectum.

Rants and condescension. Why can't we be civil, open-minded and adopt balanced views. Empathy is so needed.Â

PSYLLIUM HUSK HELPS KEEP THE RECTUM EASILY CLEANED One of the problems bottoms face is stools that are sticky, leave quite a lot of residue or they just are unable to eliminate everything in the rectum. Douching helps, but having good quality stools that are easily passed and leave little residue makes things much cleaner and easier. Psyllium husk can achieve this very effective and easily, although a high-fibre diet can also have the same effect. How Does it Work? Psyllium husk is known as a stool bulking agent. It is insoluble fibre that traps water, adding volume to your stools. With this volume, stools pass along the bowel more easily. As this bulked up stool moves along, it also picks up any smaller bits. How do you take it? Psyllium husk is relatively tasteless, and you can add a little amount (half a teaspoonful or more, depending on your fibre needs) to your food. I add just under a teaspoon to my oatmeal in the mornings, and just take it once a day. The amount you need may vary - don't take too much though as it may cause diarrhoea instead. Instead gradually add on the amount till you achieve the optimal effect. The Effect of Psyllium Husk Since taking it, my stools have been like bananas when I defecate. My bowels feel clear in just 1 or 2 movements. It is also amazing that it leaves little to no residue - not infrequently, I wipe and see a clean toilet paper! Mind you as a bottom, I am rather fastidious in wiping usually. When I douche, there may be bits, yes. But not those sticky yucky ones, but more like playdough bits. Get it at Supermarkets like NTUC The good thing is psyllium husk is relatively cheap. You only need a small amount each day, and a packet lasts you for a long time. You can get it from NTUC under the organic foods section - mine is the green packet sort, which is placed along with other grains and stuff. Other supermarkets also have it. Pharmacies have a fancy flavoured version that comes in satchets, particularly to help constipation. A popular brand is Metamucil although it is much more expensive than those you can get from supermarkets. Conclusion Want your rectum clean so you can take that cock reassured? Good stools is an important factor, and psyllium husk has worked wonderfully for me in achieving that. Give it a shot (er maybe at least a week for the bowels to move along), and let me know how it works for you!

So there is the usual brands of condoms you get at the pharmacies and supermarkets right, like Durex, Okamoto and the like. Are there more exciting brands of condoms, and where do you get them? e.g. those featured in that online article above. Hm, and anybody knows where to get female condoms? It sounds interesting to try. The top does not need to put on one and instead the bottom stuffs it into his hole.
-
How is it inappropriate to offer or promote condoms to a group of sexually very active young people? Stupid backward looking university.
-
Anybody tried female condoms? That'll be interesting although apparently it slips more easily.

My sister tried to introduce me a girl rather persistently yesterday. In front of my family, I retorted that I don't like girls. My sister and Mum persisted nevertheless. I wonder if they realise that I'm gay, or are they really clueless...

That'll be quite a scene. Then again if my bf was charming enough, my sister might just try to steal him....

Why so angsty.... Well at the end of the day, all of us are trying to make the best of our lives. We share what we think is helpful because we want each other to live better. But to condescend anyone earns no respect. Money is a divisive issue, and there's the struggles of lower socioeconomic status and the sandwiched middle class. Maybe, we could find a way through together.
-
Well some people say you can, and some people do. But that's not everyone. People say you can grow to love what you loathe initially, or you need a change of mindset. I do try to do those and appreciate the moment. But well, it's about compromise and forgotten dreams. Be realistic, grow up, that's life you say. But is that life we really want to live? Life is short and we may perish tomorrow. Should I really be selling (the entire or part of) my soul to my job?

Haha nobody said enslave children. Of course I would want the best for my children and enable them to be in the best position to make decisions for themselves. But a possible benefit is that of kin in old age. Nothing in life is guaranteed of course. All things carry a probability and risk. To point it out, people have children mainly because of sex..... It's not as noble as you put it to be. Parents coerce their children to tuition, to become lawyers and doctors. They impose their dreams on them. It's not as noble as we think it is. At the end is driven to some extent of selfishness, and a mix of nobleness.
