With the recent spike from the KTV lounge,  more people will need to be quarantine and those family man will have a difficult time explaining to their wife why they are considered as close contact.

Tell their wife they were there to eat, since the KTV lounge has converted to F&B during this period.

Yeap,  just like some stupid one thinking that such establishments will kuai kuai do pure F & B.

The likelihood of those KTV lounges converting to genuine F & B outlets is about the same as me converting to a heterosexual.

MOH should test them for HIV and STDs as well.

You'll never know with these filthy straight men and their Vietnamese whores 🤮

Confidential Covid-19 tests for those who visited KTV lounges, interacted with social hostesses

I hope the police jailed the whole lot of you after you are discharged from hospital!

What if keybox/hook/shogun got cases one day? Should those patrons be jailed as well?

A few questions remain:

1. Why the Vietnamese girl can obtain a short term visit pass? Come and visit relative again,  this tiny nation really have relatives all over the world that need to come and visit during this pandemic.

2. Why believe this kind of establishment will do pure F&B and let them continue to operate? If they can't survive this pandemic,  they can cease operation and restart when everything is over.

3. Few KTV lounge was raided and 20 suspects arrested yesterday,  why only take action after the incident,  before that close one eye?

Those Malaysian, Thai and Vietnamese girls like to come here to find "rich Singaporean males" to seduce and marry. That's their standard protocol when they decide to come here. Their offsprings will usually end up in ITE and/or become social nuisances/eyesores to Singaporeans. Blue collar men who cannot jive with local sexy babes frequent those KTVs looking for sexy wives foreign will pursue and spoil them using money and gifts, get them to marry them, then social problem ensures.

Quality new citizens, indeed!

Therein lies the hypocrisy of society.

When straight men break the rules and spread covid, nobody says that straight men are virus spreaders because they don't stay faithful to their wives. They are criticised, yes, but their heterosexuality is never called into question, and it's never a part of the problem.

But just imagine if the cluster had been at a gay bar or gay sauna.

The amount of hate and condemnation from the straight community will be unimaginable. They will be saying all kinds of bad and hurtful things about us gay guys.

That's what makes me so mad.

U guys can totally kiss it goodbye.. no more hong lim park.. no more light up.. no more gatherings.. S377A will be enforced. I want to thank the Government,

During Phase 2 Heightened Alert,

I was forced to abstain from going to the Sauna. On Day 1 of Phase 3 Ministry of Health ordered me to do Quarantine coz i was 2 metres away from an infected-covid-patient.

So this is the LONGEST duration i didn't go to the Sauna🏆

I love this COVID-19 situation in Singapore for how it is exposing the situation of all the foreign trash situations in Singapore.

First, it was the India long term pass holder who got into Singapore even when there was an outright ban for them to come here during that period of time. If not for the one Indian who came in and was detected to be infected, the Minister Iswaran would not have revealed that there was approval given to 11 Indians to get into Singapore under special authority. Till now, nobody has delved further ad to what is so special about those Indians to be granted access into Singapore when all others were banned.

And then now, we realized that even boyfriend/girlfriend had been granted short term passes into Singapore under familial ties access! If not for this KTV cluster, would ICA still allow these boyfriends/girlfriends to gain entry?

No wonder singapore is flooded with foreign trash. We did not open the floodgates for them to enter the country. We never had any gates to stop anyone at all.

Indeed,  the longer this drama drag on,  the more weaknesses will be exposed.

Let's recap:

First lockdown because some idiot mess up the dormitory infection.

Second lockdown because too many relatives allow to come visiting and in the process bring in the Indian virus.

Third lockdown because allow sex KTV to operate with SEA and china prostitutes.

Throughout these incidents,  definitely someone is not doing their job well while enjoying high pay. The best of it, no one need to be hold responsible. And now someone say it will be difficult for police to catch these prostitutes,  really?

As usual not their fault, everyone please forgive and forget and move on. The main fault now is many people do not listen to govt and not vaccinated, that's why created so many big clusters? Haha.

Yeap,  vaccination is another problem,  getting the health minister acting with mediacock artiste is not not going to help.

Even if we cant impose a fine on them, can we make them pay the full medical cost if they kena covid? Can we make them pay a huge sum for quarantine or even increase 14 days to 21 days? Sporean are never known to be automatic,   need to feel the pinch then will do it. We start vaccination 8 months ago and still can't get 70% vaccinated for this tiny nation,  that is a shame and something more drastic need to be done.

Cannot blame since it is based on voluntary. If they want to achieve high vaccination rate, maybe should impose mandatory vaccination? Or at least offered more different type of covid vaccine?

Singapore detects 88 new local COVID-19 infections (yahoo.com)

Singapore detects 88 new local COVID-19 cases; 23 linked to KTV cluster

SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Sunday (18 July) reported the detection of 92 new cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore, taking the country's total case count to 63,073.

Of the new cases, 88 are local transmissions – of which 23 are part of the growing KTV cluster and 37 are linked to the Jurong Fishery port cluster, said MOH in a news release. This brings the number of cases in the KTV cluster to 171.

Thirty of the local cases are linked to past cases and have already been placed on quarantine, while 41 are linked to previous cases and were detected through surveillance.

Seventeen of the new cases are currently unlinked. Among the new cases are also four seniors above the age of 70, who are at risk of serious illness, said MOH.

There are also four imported cases, all of whom have been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore. One case was detected upon arrival, while three developed the illness during SHN or isolation..

In its update on Saturday, MOH said that of the 68 infections detected that day, 29 were linked to the KTV lounge cluster.

Six more KTV lounges or clubs were also added to the cluster, bringing the total number of such premises with likely ongoing transmission to 15. The new outlets listed were:

Quinn KTV (207A Syed Alwi Road)

Club AURA (442 Orchard Road)

Club Ion (271 Bukit Timah Road)

Icon II (35 Selegie Road)

Club Lucky Thai (5001 Beach Road)

M. Sakhon (5001 Beach Road)

The first reported case in the cluster was a Vietnamese hostess on a short-term visit pass to Singapore and who had been to many of the KTV outlets.

The government did not make it mandatory because the vaccines were granted permission through the Pandemic Special Access Route. When all the long term data is ready, it is a possibility that MOH makes it mandatory.

Doomed. Spiralling out of control.

This is new normal, no need to scare if you are vaccinated. They always say even the cases are high but people who got covid only have mild or no symptoms, no need to worry so much on the high cases. Only need to worry when cases are high and all need to be hospitalize to get treatment.

No dining in, social group sizes cut to 2 from July 22 as S'pore returns to phase 2

Singapore will be going back to phase 2 heightened alert to stem the recent spike in community cases.

SINGAPORE - Covid-19 measures will be tightened again from Thursday (July 22) to August 18, as Singapore goes back to phase 2 heightened alert to stem the recent spike in community cases.

Dining in will not be allowed during this period, among other restrictions, Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong said on Tuesday (July 20).

Eateries can only offer takeaway and delivery options.

Maximum group sizes for social gatherings will be reduced from five to two. The number of distinct visitors per household per day will also be capped at two, from the current five.

The announcement by the multi-ministry task force on Covid-19 came as Singapore recorded its highest number of community cases since the pandemic began for the second straight day on Monday.

There were 163 locally transmitted Covid-19 cases on Monday, with the majority linked to the swelling Jurong Fishery Port cluster, which has 179 cases. The cluster linked to KTVs has 193 cases.

More clusters linked to the Jurong Fishery Port, especially in wet markets and hawker food centres, have been uncovered, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Tuesday.

"This is very concerning, as it can affect many people in our community all over the island," it added.

Singapore is expected to record 184 cases on Tuesday, said Health Minister Ong Ye Kung during a virtual press conference, adding that while this was not good news, the momentum of increase has slowed.

Mr Gan, who co-chairs the task force, said that given the rate at which new clusters are growing, tougher measures are necessary to slow down the spread of the virus to give time to raise vaccination coverage, especially among the elderly.

"We know that this news is extremely disappointing and frustrating to many, in particular for businesses in sectors such as F&B.

"These sectors have been very badly hit given the earlier restrictions, and have been working very hard to adapt to the changing regulations," he said.

He added: "We know that the last 18 months have been challenging, and we will provide additional support for the affected businesses as we make this shift."

On how the latest tightening fits into plans to live with an endemic Covid-19, Mr Gan said that the authorities' direction has not changed.

"However, when we outlined our plans to live with Covid-19, we also emphasised that we needed to significantly raise our vaccination, and meanwhile we still need to keep infection under control to protect the unvaccinated, especially the elderly.

Over the next few weeks, we will make a much bigger push to get our elderly population vaccinated," he said.

Work-from-home will continue to be the default at workplaces, MOH said in a statement.

Safety measures calibrated according to vaccination status will be re-introduced "at an appropriate time" as Singapore's vaccination coverage continues to increase, the ministry added.

Strenuous indoor exercise classes, or strenuous individual and group indoor sports and exercise activities, will also cease during this period.

Personalised services which require masks to be removed, such as facials, saunas, and makeup services, will not be allowed. The same goes for singing, and the playing of instruments that require intentional expulsion of air.

Maximum event sizes will also be scaled down. For instance, up to 100 persons will be allowed for marriage solemnisations, provided there is pre-event testing for all attendees. This is down from the current 250 people limit.

The task force had to rethink its posture with the significant shift in the public health situation, said Mr Ong.

Key considerations include protecting hospital capacity from being overwhelmed.

The authorities also had to consider the level of community exposure, with the latest wave at wet markets and food centres affecting a wider spectrum of people, as well as some 200,000 people above the age of 60 who remain unvaccinated and therefore have a high likelihood of falling critically ill once infected, he said.

"Hence after thinking long and hard, we decided we have to revert to phase 2 heightened alert. It is most unsettling for the affected industries and the establishments, but we are so close, weeks away, to a stage where we have two-third or more of our population fully vaccinated around National Day, and then being able to much more decisively transit to a Covid-resilient posture."

"Therefore, now is really not the time to risk it all. So we need to bite this bullet, dial back on social activities, and use this time to push through the vaccination efforts," said Mr Ong.

Mr Gan said: "I know today's announcement feels like a huge setback to many who have been observing the rules, and doing whatever it takes to keep themselves and the larger population safe.

"We deeply appreciate your efforts. Once we have slowed down the new clusters and hit higher vaccination rates, we would be able to continue with our reopening journey."

When the cases went up, everyone panic, including the govt. I wonder even after everyone got vaccinated, what will happen? No more clusters formed and no more over 100+ cases?
