go any heartland shopping malls like Nex, Tampines, Causeway point.... the crowd is like insane stampede

U go ECP, Jewel, Marina barrage, Chinatown etc etc everywhere now is crazy crowds. Like CNY celebrations the kind of crowd. Just that it is happening over almost whole SG.

I feel like our population has like increased ten-folds over the years. I thought our TFR is declining, means lesser babies & children over the years. Plus with an aging population means the PG & MG usually stay home even if they haven't uplorry. But how come outside more & more people these days??

How is it that the population in SG seems to have increased explosively over the years? And I am not referring to the foreigners. When I go the shopping malls or Orchard, actually maybe only ard 10% is ADMKs & CECAs. The mass majority of people creating long queues at DTF, bring their screaming children to Swensens/Macs etc are all mostly sinkies

Also AMDKs tend to hang out at their own enclaves like Robertson quay, Sentosa cove etc

U go NEX now there are like 10,000 sinkie couples/teenagers/families wandering around and queuing for food... dun see any ADMKs & CECAs. I wonder how come SG population seems to have exploded in recent years....

Part of the reason is most ppl follow herd behaviour. They tend to go out at similar timings, similar places.

I agree. If you think unconventionally, you will be able to beat the crowd.

If you need to go to Orchard Rd, go on a weekday night. It's much quieter and less crowded, because most people don't like to go to Orchard Rd on a weeknight due to work/school (no mood and/or no time). Your shopping experience will be a lot more pleasant.

Don't go on a weekend afternoon; the whole of S'pore goes at that time.

Same thing with movies. Because most S'poreans like to sleep late and wake up late, try to watch movies during the earliest screening. The cinema will be half empty, or even 3/4 empty.

Forget about the afternoon, evening, or night screenings. You'll get tonnes of couples with PDA, parents with noisy kids, etc.

If u dont like crowd, a few places must be avoided at all cost during weekends, nex,  vivo,  orchard, sentosa are just some of them.

Not only sporean cannot wait to come out,  a lot of tourists cant wait to come here too,  good for STB and those in the related industry.  Not to forget after causeway open,  a lot of malaysian will flock here to work especially with a 3.20 exchange rate.

Maybe also we have gone through some quiet moments from mar 2020 to mar 2022, especially during CB,  in comparison now seems so crowded and chaos.

There's your answer.

Your blue pen marker and pointing to the foreigners is flawed.

A) in same period the Singaporeans increased by 750,000, the foreign population by 1 mil.

B) You don't say that foreign workers (construction, marine and maids) already compound of 1 million.

EP holders in 2020 are only 116,000.

C ) you missed that threadstarter was talking of shopping malls and work permit holders surely not contributing to masses in malls!

Here we go again,singa--liar singing-lies!

"work permit holders surely not contributing to masses in malls"??? Is there any filter system in the malls that can block any WP holders to go there? How would HE know that the "work permit holders surely not contributing to masses in malls"???

Furthermore, so what if "foreign workers (construction, marine and maids) already compound of 1 million"? You mean they are not foreigners? And so what if "EP holders in 2020 are only 116,000", do they not contribute to the crowd?

And besides, dear all BW readers, please take a good look at the REAL statistics of 2020 Foreign workforce numbers here on this website: https://www.mom.gov.sg/documents-and-publications/foreign-workforce-numbers, and you can see how singa--liar is singing-lies again by decreasing his declared number of EP holders from 177,100 to 116,000 (34.5% decrease) and not reporting the number of S-Pass holders which numbered another 174,000 people.

Pass type Dec 2016 Dec 2017 Dec 2018 Dec 2019 Dec 2020 Dec 2021
Employment Pass (EP) 192,300 187,700 185,800 193,700 177,100 161,700
S Pass 179,700 184,400 195,500 200,000 174,000 161,800

Now you know how "incredible" singa--liar is! Look at how he tell so many lies just so that he can con people like you and justify his own stay in Singapore. If he is truly talented, he will have no fear. If he is not, that's when the lies need to come out!

Hahahaha ... Come, let's SING together!

a)

161,700 EP holders make up 9.8 % of all foreigners in Singapore.

EP Holders make up only 2.8% of the total population of Singapore.

How can 9.8% or 2.8% of the total population be the reason for overcrowding in malls?

b)

SPass Holders make another 9.8 % of all Foreigners.

Both make 5.6% of the total population in Singapore.

These 5.6 % are the cause of overcrowding in Singapore???

You must be joking!

c) Does anyone here see plenty of work permit holders (Indians, Bangla, Sri Lankan, Thai or Mainland Chinese construction workers in shopping malls in Singapore???

You must be joking again.

BW readers do not let you be influenced by the true truth distorters and foreigner haters at BW.

Just wonder who are the real liars at BW.

It is obvious that Foreigners are not the persons causing "overcrowding" in shopping malls in Singapore!

Hahaha! Dear forumers, here you see how singa~liar distorts the truth. After he gets cornered and exposed for distorting numbers, he claims it was a typo and he still don't show his source. Then he talks about the "lower" number of EPs and SPs, which is actually high enough in itself already, and then use it to pretend that the entire population of "Foreigners are not the persons causing "overcrowding" in shopping malls in Singapore".

See how shrewd liars like him can get? Be careful of foreign trash like him lurking around Singapore.

Even if my typo of 116,000 EP holders instead of 161,000 had been correct, what difference had it made?

Compared to the total population of 5.6 million in Singapore it had been marginal.

It is visible for everyone that 2.8 % can't cause overcrowding in Shopping malls. Also BW readers here are aware that Foreign construction and shipping workers are rarely seen in shopping malls.

The only thing exposed here are your xenophobe lies and exagerations!

See la! See la! First, it was using the need for foreign workers to clean the tables and build the houses to justify the need to bring in foreigners. Then after they bring them in, the boundaries are breached to let in the foreign trash to come to take up jobs for PMETs in STEM jobs. And now, people like singa"LIAR" comes in to claim that the "small number" (LOL) can't cause overcrowding everywhere.

Why leh? You hoping the entire Singapore to be overcrowded with foreigners PMETs in STEM jobs before the country do something about it? Singaporeans PMETs have already been degraded enough to become Grab drivers and even table cleaners. Not bad enough for foreign trash like you yet, huh? Still want to come here and spread your shitty lies and justifications why trash like you should still remain working in Singapore?

Just because the country is run by a small handful of autocrats, doesn't mean that the entire nation is stupid. Welcome to the WOKE generation, where ugly foreign trash like you gets exposed nude and naked for the entire world to shame!

Each EP can bring their family members as dependant pass...imagine if 100,000 EP  * Family of 4  =? , Family of X 6, family of X10

Eligibility for Dependant's Pass (mom.gov.sg)

Eligibility for Dependant's Pass

Eligible Employment Pass or S Pass holders can bring certain family members to Singapore on a Dependant's Pass.

You can apply for a Dependant’s Pass for your family if you meet all these requirements:

  • Hold an Employment Pass or S Pass.
  • Earn a minimum fixed monthly salary of $6,000. This is based on your salary, and not based on your combined household income.
  • Are sponsored by an established, Singapore-registered company (usually your employer).

For dependants of EntrePass holders, refer to these requirements.

You can get a pass for the following family members:

  • Legally married spouse.
  • Unmarried children under 21 years old, including legally adopted children.

If your family members are not eligible for a Dependant’s Pass, they may qualify for a Long Term Visit Pass.

What's the purpose of the post?

In your calculation, if one EP holder has a spouse and 2 kids, they would represent 11.2% of the total population of Singapore. 11.2% causes overcrowding in shopping malls and MRT trains???

Also:

So you want married guys holding degrees being separated from their wife when they work in Singapore just like those poor Indian Bangla workers? Maybe built some offshore dormitories for such graduated professional EP holders and house them there and call it Leprosy island.

Leave their kids in boarding schools in their home countries separated from the parents?

Maybe you look what the average spending of these expats per year in Singapore is and compare it with locals...

The numbers of Dependant's pass holders and Long Term Pass Holders are all public, dig them out.

Also note those foreign spouses of Singaporeans are mostly Long Term Pass Holders.

I think harping on EP holders as the reason or cause of overcrowding is wasted energy...

If "harping on EP holders as the reason or cause of overcrowding is wasted energy", then why did YOU bring it up? Trying to justify that EP numbers is minimal and why YOU should be here in Singapore? You don't even deserve to be here on an S-pass, much less so on an EP.

The most stupid thing of this Guest troll is to bring in a statistic on EP and S Pass holders that shows a decline of numbers from 2016 to 2020...

in both categories...

A declining work force of EP holders and S Passes shall contribute to overcrowding in Singapore shopping malls???

Foreign workforce numbers

Pass type Dec 2016 Dec 2017 Dec 2018 Dec 2019 Dec 2020 Dec 2021
Employment Pass (EP) 192,300 187,700 185,800 193,700 177,100 161,700
S Pass 179,700 184,400 195,500 200,000 174,000 161,800

Anyone with even a single cell as a brain will know that no amount of "decline" will be effective, when the number of foreigners already went past the saturation point a long time ago!

Such display of stupidity!

I wonder what the Singapore government even see in him to let him qualify for an EP...😂

See how shrewd liars like him can get? Be careful of foreign trash like him lurking around Singapore.

I happy when I fact check and expose singa~liar lies. Hahahaha!

of course. singa-"no balls post as guests" people are always myopically and naively happy.

probably a jealous foreign intruder trying to stir shit to disrupt the harmony in Singapore.
